I too am so sorry to learn of this loss of life. And for the sorrow and grief that those that are left behind, must contend with. Especially difficult for young children to understand and accept.
Every one has a soul in my opinion. And when ones body is no longer, that energy is released and is free to move in ways that one can not in life. Energy in its pure form cannot be destroyed, but rather its shape can only be changed.I believe that a spirit can visit those that they loved in life, and places as well that had meaning to them in our physical realm. I also believe that in life, we all have what is essentially an essence, and that for everywhere that we go, and do, people that are a part of our lives and have meaning to us, that we/they leave a part of their essence behind. So wherever one may go, and do, so goes a part of those that you love that have left their earthly bodies behind.
For as long as loved ones, be it a person or a pet, remains in our thoughts and memories, they will never be gone. For it is when one no longer thinks or remembers those that have passed, that they will then become truly gone.
