Would you be for or against the idea of bouncing back and forth between parks each day of our 3 days? Example MM Dland, then the afternoon in DCA, then back to DL after DCA closes? Or do you think this wastes too much time walking back and forth?

We do that constantly. For example, our first day we started with MM at DCA. Did rides in Carsland, TSMM, Screamin', Soarin', and then we headed over to DL about a half-hour after they opened. Spent rest of the morning there, took an after lunch break back at the hotel, then went back into DL for a few more rides before heading back to DCA for dinner, a few MORE rides, and WOC.

It really only takes a few minutes to cross between the parks, unless there are unusual lines.

We do that often!! Since DL and DCA are literally a 2 minute walk across the esplanade from each other, it really doesn't waste much time at all to go back and forth as you have mentioned. We have started at Disney with a few rides and by collecting a few FPs, then gone over to DCA for grizzly river and a few big rides, and then returned to Disney for fireworks and to close down the park (typically Disney is open later than DCA by an hour or 2). Fun and easily doable!!:cool1:

What I don't care for is going back and forth all day long. When you are traversing from the back side of one park to the back side of the other, that uses a lot of time!!

We start off at DL, then go to CA, then back to the hotel for lunch and a break. We then head back to one of the parks at night depending on what we want to ride. It only takes a few minutes got get between parks.

The only thing that puts a kink in park hopping is when there is a line to get in the other park. We have done that and at times spent 10 to 15 minutes to get through DCA's gate.

With our 5 & 7 year olds, it's all we do. Get off Splash Mountain and then hear, let's go on Toy Story! :faint: Fortunately they are getting old enough to realize that it's smarter to do things in the immediate area. But we still park hop at least 3 or 4 times a day.

Yep.

And yep.

The actual gate to gate time is nothing. It's the back of the park to the gate, gate to back of the park walking that'll get you! So TRY to plan it so you're naturally in, and going to, things in the front of the parks. It'll make you happier.

This summer we were there for 3 days. We Park hopped 4-5 times each day! It was our first time to DLR and we thought it was awesome!!

We were used to WDW, where it can take up to an hour to park hop, so we thought the 2 min. walk, and short wait at the gates was easy peasy!!

Plus, that allowed us to have 6-7 different FP at a time!! That was great!! Especially in the crowded summer!

I would highly recommend to do it this way! We were in the parks last week and we started each morning in DCA, on non EE days, to start in Carsland! We went straight to Luigis and RSR FP one day then headed to TSM and CS, then on our way out the park grabbed a soaring FP, then entered DL and grabbed a Startours FP then walked to HM and POTC. After a few hours in DL we headed back to DCA to finish our FPs and catch Carnsland at night! The next time we started in Carsland and followed the wide right technique and went straight to RSR and we were finished riding within 35 mins, then went to Luigis and then got FP for RSR! Then jumped over to DL before the lines got too long at DL!
