Hopper or MYW. Which is the best ticket choice for this trip?

I'm planning 4 days at WDW surrounding a 3 day cruise . At least two maybe three of the 4 days at the parks we'll only be going to 1 park each day the but other one or two days we'd like the option of going to two parks in a day, say Magic Kingdom and then Animal Kingdom after lunch. It looks like it's much cheaper to buy a 6 day Magic Your Way ticket than a 4 day park Hopper. Can I use the extra days to visit two parks in one day? :confused3 Looks like for me it would save about $185.

Nope - sorry - WDW already figured that out (although it's one of the most frequent questions on these boards). The turnstile will know you have already entered a WDW park on that day, and refuse entry.

Thanks for the info mjkacmom, I quess I need to decide whether we really need the Park Hoppers or can we deal with one park a day? Usually we get the park hoppers but may go with the MYW to save this time.

A base ticket is one major (theme) park per day. You are allowed to re-enter the same park if you leave it on one day, but it can only be used at the one park.

Note that the ticket will state on it either "Not Valid For Park Hopping" or "One Theme Park Per Day". That should be a hint.

If you put the ticket in the turnstile of another park the display on the Guest side of the turnstile will be "ACCESS DENIED". The top line of the display on the Greeter side will give information about the ticket, and the second line of the display will say "CROSSOVER NOT PERMITTED". The turnstile will not unlock.

This is because Disney charges $5.00 per day over four days on a ticket, but charges $54 to allow hopping. It does not make economic sense for Disney to allow this.

If you actually have multiple tickets (more than one physical ticket per person) as opposed to multiple day tickets, you can use these tickets for multiple entries. But it makes absolutely no economic sense as a separate ticket costs a lot more than adding hopping to a ticket.

Or, as I recently told a Guest who was arguing with me about using a different day on the ticket:

The turnstile computer thinks today is Friday. The turnstile computer at the other park also thinks today is Friday. The two turnstile computers talk to each other. If you can convince this turnstile computer that today is not the same Friday as the other computer thinks, it will let you in.

Buy the 4 day base tickets.

When you are there and about to leave the first park for the second, ask yourself again whether you absolutely positively want to do that. You can stay put if you want.

If you do finally decide to make the trek to the second park, you can add the hopping feature to each ticket right there.

looks like you go alot. have you looked into the 10 day no expiration. Yes, it would be more out of pocket but it would save you $ in the long run. Plus, for $50 you can add on 10 water park days.
