Looking at some of the trade options, the 2 BR units sometimes only sleep 6. I assumed since we were trading a 2BR which sleeps 8 at DVC, the trade would be the same.

Can anyone share their experience with this?

find out what the bedding really is?

some of the Marriott's say in their studio that they only slept 2 - they have a king bed and a queen sleeper sofa in some of these rooms - they are bigger than DVC - sleep 2????

find out for yourself what the bedding is. then decide if it work for you - if not - find one that has 3-bedroom - sometimes MS can trade your 2-bedroom for a 3-bedroom (if availability)

Sometimes with other resorts they say that because they only sleep 6 privately (2 in one br, 4 in another and 2 in the LR) and sometimes it's because the second BR only has twin beds, so it really is just 6. You could probably inquire by calling the resort.

II has adjusted their exchange policy as it pertains to this matter. They have started only counting the private sleeping capacity of the units given up regardless of the total capacity. This means that you can only request for 6 for a 2 BR though you can request for 6 for resorts that will actually accomodate 8. It also means you can only exchange for 2 for a studio though the unit you get may or may not accomodate more. I haven't explored how this is working through DVC so it's possible there will be some lag time for DVC to catch up to II in this matter. Just one more of many good reasons to investigate the exchange options rather than assume DVC will only give you good choices.
