Hope this hasn't been asked to often. Dining plan question...

I know people have debated the dining plan and said sometimes it isn't a great deal. But with the buy one get on half off deal for APH I am thinking it might be a good deal. Especially if we use the snack credit for Butterbeer and water bottles for drink credits. What is everyone's thoughts?? We are there for 7 days and was thinking about getting the dining plan for a few days, not everyday. Also if you get the one with the refill mug do they give you a new mug everytime??

I'm insite for 17 days and do buy the counter meal deal twice during that time period
I don't have to rush to use the two coupons as they expire 14 days after purchase

This still allows me to do other eateries at the hotel and city walk

You should be okay buying the meal deal once during your visit

So you don't have to use the credits all in one day?

If you buy the counter service meal deal, it covers that meal plus a beverage and you get one snack coupon and one beverage coupon that has to be used within 14 days

The better deal is order the chicken /rib combo at 3 broomsticks
The meal itself is about $17
You pay about $22 for the meal deal
You will get a choice of one beverage with that meal

Use the snack coupon for butterbeer as that is one of the higher snacks

Use the beverage coupon for water, soda or if any other beverage is on that list

Louie's is another counter service place where you can come out ahead by about $5 if you do the counter meal deal

We might be talking about two different things

What I posted about is the counter service meal deal

The table service meal deal for me is not to my advantage as I can't save any money on that set up
All it really offers me is paying for table service in advance and I do not come out ahead financially

Have not read the special of the AP meal deal yet

It is the counter service meal deal I am considering. APH are being offered buy one meal deal get a second for half price. The table service one I think is only available with packages.

I'm researching this as well since I got the email fo APHs. It may work for our family. We are going with 2 tweens. My plan is to get the deal and get 2 chicken and rib combo and share amongst the 4 of us. We'll get 2 drinks and then we'll get another 2 drinks and 2 snacks for the kids.

I think this will work. It appears that you have to use all of your items in the same day. If this is not correct pleas advise.
