To all you experts,Sorry a bit off topic....
For our vacation in August '02 we are planning on 3 nights in san Francisco, then flying to san diego for maybe 5 nights then driving to LA.3 nights in Disneyland hotel then 5 nights in LA or a beach place close to LA (any suggestions).
We really wanted to visit Phoenix and the Grand canyon but it would be way too hot then (saving that for another year!). I wanted to ask if in visiting LA/Anaheim and San Diego are they too similiar to have as a 2 centre holiday or are they both unique in places to visit and things to do.
Any advice is much appreciated.

Hi there!

:bounce:

You're going to have a wonderful vacation! (Or holiday, as you Brits call it.) I would suggest visiting San Diego, as it is quite lovely. I'm a native of San Francisco, so as much as I adore my home town, it would be easier for you to visit San Diego as it is only an hour or so from Disneyland.

San Diego has the world's most wonderful zoo, and the beach in the seaside town of La Jolla is beautiful. There are interesting shops in both Old Town and the Gaslamp Quarter. Another interesting thing to do (if you love bargains) is to take the trolley into Tijuana for some quick shopping.

Have a *magical* trip!

You'll have a great time. However I would recommend spending longer at Disneyland and less time in LA- Anaheim/Disneyland makes a great base for touring around. how about spending a night on the Queen Mary in Long Beach? Great fun and quite cheap during the week.

I think San Diego is very different than LA and you should try to visit. :D

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. Your advice will be a great help.
I will be asking for more of it soon !!
