Hop, Skip and a Week!! A TR Full of Mayhem, Masticating and Mortification!-Updt 4/29

I'm so sorry to hear the boys have been sick!! Many hugs to you and your family...all that is no fun. :sad2:

I hope they feel better soon and you, and Mr. I, don't catch it!

There are just too many things in the last installment that made me laugh! Popping out the girls in CoP - STOPPING CoP, nearly being crushed to death on CoP! :rotfl2:

And the CM, Jessica? Cullinary school? Isn't she in a janitorial uniform? WHAT is she using for her secret ingredient in class? :scared1:

Great updates - keep 'em coming!

ooooo, wow! I'm sorry to hear everyone is sick. Your poor babies. I hope you all get better real soon!

OMG you didn't tell me about stopping the Carousel of Progress. :lmao: :rotfl: too funny.

i'm SORRY i didn't get any twinnie pics!!! i couldn't find places, i couldn't motivate my photographer... it just was a bust and it's all my fault :sad2: i'm sorry

awesome update twinnie!!!!!

I didn't tell you cus I had to leave some surprises for the TR. :rotfl: I'm sorry too... but I understand. It would have been cool though to have pictures of us at the same places, since Disney World is the only place in the world we've both been.

I can't stop laughing about you stopping the COP. I know it was probably mortifying but it's still hilarious. ;) I would totally do something like that. Now don't shoot me but I have never done the COP. Where is it at exactly?

Glad to provide a few chuckles. I can laugh now but I wanted to hide behind a tree when all those poor people came out of the CoP. I mean, I didn't just stop the ride for the people in the theater I was in... but for all the theaters ahead and behind us. It was only the people in our theater that knew it was me, but still!! I wanted to melt into the pavement.

CoP is right behind Ranger Spin. It's great, kinda in the spirit of Spaceship Earth in that it shows a journey through time. Try it!! I love it, but realize I may love it more for my own personal nostalgia reasons than for any other.

It looked like a gorgeous day for MK. I liked your Minnie Ears. I also liked the Grandma's t-shirts.

I can't believe you stopped the CoP. :lmao: I would have just died.

I wanted to die, for sure!! I love those Minnie Ears. I saw them on a lady on a bus one day and thought she was wearing her hair Princess Leia style til I noticed the bow. Then noticed they were ears! It took a while for it to process. She was the only lady I saw with those ears all week. I had to ask the cm in the hat shop in Main Street where to find the clip on ears. They were in the costume shop, not the hat shop. So there ya go! Love them.

The G-ma's shirt looked great. There's a poem my mom likes that says "When I am an old lady, I shall wear purple" so that's why they were both lavender.

The weather was beautiful that day but man the park was CROWDED. The CM I talked to at Ranger Spin said it had been dead just the day before. It was because we were there on EMH days. Live and learn!

So cute! What a wonderful surprise!

Love it! :rotfl2:

The scarf, Mickey ears hat and Minnie ears are really cute too!

Don't feel bad about "popping out the goods"-YES, it's a very natural thing and it's best for your little man! Henry never nursed nicely, so I pumped for MONTHS AND MONTHS! You were very modest about it-don't worry! :goodvibes

And oh my word...that is HILARIOUS about stopping CoP! Scary about it possibly CRUSHING you though!!!! :scared1: This so sounds like something I would have done. I'm going to have to remember to look on that ride in December to see if they have added "Emergency" to the sign!

I reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyy hope you got to see Wishes!!!!!

Thanks Brook!!! You're so supportive!!

Let me know about the Emergency sign since it looks like you'll be back before we can return. I don't think I was in any danger of being crushed because a) I knew it wasn't going to be rotating any time soon because I knew the pacing of the show, b) because the whole thing turns reaaaaaaaaaally slowly and c) because it took me all of 3 secs to step across the barrier. I was careful. But I get why they have to be careful with that ride.

Yeah I didn't talk to Jessica, just got the story from my mom. I wondered about them putting her to work on custodial duty if she was training to be a chef. Surely they had a position in a restaurant... but maybe they rotate them around to different positions. Or maybe she secured the job through Disney separately from her school and I misunderstood the internship being through Disney. :confused3

Glad you laughed !!

Either that or she's failing culinary school...

How are you and Mr. I and the boys doing?

Boys are much better!!

Thank you everyone for the well wishes! Jack-Jack finished his last dose of antibiotics yesterday. Of course, now with the Swine Flu one town over, we're worried about all of that on top of everything else we've had this winter.

I'm going to try my best to get another update out tonight or tomorrow.

We left off outside of CoP, after just riding Ranger Spin. Jack-Jack had finally fallen asleep in his stroller, after fighting it most of the day. If you’ll remember he had fallen asleep right as we had come in the park and I had to wake him up to change a stinky diaper, so you know he was tired and grumpy and in much need of a nap.

We decided to head over to Cosmic Rays to eat lunch, thinking this would be a good way to give Jack-Jack time to sleep and us a chance to fill up our bellies. Mr. I and I had reservations that night for Wolfgang Puck Café but both knew we probably were not going to be able to keep that reservation. It was for 10:30pm and it was more important to me to let the grandma’s get to bed early so we could get to Epcot early enough the next day to get Soarin’ FPs.

As I am suggesting we head over to Cosmic Ray’s, Mary Poppins says the following “ I'll stay here with Jack-Jack while y'all eat. Just bring me back a hot dog. We should let sleeping dogs lie."

At this point, after 6 days of one thing after another on our all over the map vacation, this is what her I heard her say “ You are a bad mother for even thinking about pushing a sleeping baby in a stroller anywhere. How could you even consider pushing him anywhere?.”

Now I’m not saying that how I heard it was how she intended it… but by this point, I wasn’t exactly rational. I think everyone has heard an in-law say something that hurt their feelings and made them feel like a bad parent or bad spouse, when in actuality that probably wasn’t how they meant it. Well this was like that.

I was beyond upset. We left her on a bench with Jack-Jack in his stroller sleeping, and the rest of us went to Cosmic Ray’s to eat. I had the chicken and rib combo and shared it with my mom. I think Mr. I got the chicken sandwich and Dash ate chicken strip nuggets. I don’t remember much of this meal. I was too busy fuming verbally. I mean a large part of taking a stroller to Disney is to be able to push the kid around once he or she is asleep! I didn’t see the harm in pushing him into a air conditioned restaurant 100 yards away. It’s not like he had a history of waking up when we moved the stroller. He had slept all over the park, as evidenced by many pictures in this TR!

I think looking back now, Mary Poppins was tired too and was probably using Jack-Jack as an excuse to stay put. But obviously, I’m still a little ticked about the implication of it all! I love her, I don’t think she meant to upset me…. But she did. And to be fair, my own parents and siblings and friends have said things that I took as a personal commentary on something I was doing wrong. I think everyone can relate to this. People we love and are close to can push our buttons more than anyone else can!

Jack-Jack still sound asleep when we got back to their bench.

After Cosmic Ray’s, we went back over to take Mary Poppins her hot dog, and then headed over to ride Space Mountain. Only to find it closed for technical difficulty. Wonderful. By this time it was probably 4pm. We waited around, about 30 mins, and were just about to give up on our Fps, when they opened the ride up again. Mr. I and I rode it without Dash so I could figure out if I thought Dash should ride it. Poor Mr. I was crammed into that little spaceship and ducking his head the whole time. He was scared he’d bing his head along the ride since he’s so tall. :rotfl2: Not funny but it kinda is. I mean Disney would have a maximum height requirement if it was going to be an issue.

After we rode it, we decided we didn’t want to ride it again and that it would most likely scare Dash, especially since he would have to sit alone. I am excited to ride it again next trip and see what changes they’ve made, though.

We met back up with FGM, Mary Poppins and Dash to find Jack-Jack awake. We headed over to Main Street, giving our extra SM Fps along the way to two girls that didn’t know what they were when I first offered them. They actually walked away saying no thanks, then turned back around and tracked us down to say they had changed their minds and would take them. We found a bench off of Main Street and got ice cream. I headed to the bakery to get an ice cream sandwich while Mr. I got ice cream for everyone else from the ice cream parlor. I ended up getting banana nut bread pudding instead… at least that’s what I think it was called. It called to me and they didn't have a great selection of cookies, at least that were on display. It was ok, but I wish I had gotten the ice cream instead. Mr. I brought back a wicked looking hot fudge sundae.

DSC00747.jpg

Jack-Jack really enjoyed the ice cream! I believe this was his first ice cream cone eating attempt.

DSC00748.jpg

Ice cream?? What ice cream?! I didn't eat any ice cream!

We ate the ice cream on the bench and just soaked in the Main Street atmosphere. As we sat there, people started sitting on the curbs to get ready for the 7pm parade. It wasn’t even 5pm yet. Wowzer. I’ve never seen people lining up 2 hrs early… maybe I’m out of parade squatting practice.

We decided to stay on our bench and watch the parade from there. There weren’t anymore rides we wanted to cover. The grandmom’s were tired and I knew better than to expect them to sit on a curb for two hours for prime seats. We took turns pushing Jack-Jack around, and saving space on the benches while we went into all the Main Street shops.

Dash stopped to pose for me on Main Street.

Changing a wet diaper in his stroller. I wasn't about to leave that bench to find a bathroom in that crowd! :rotfl:

DSC00774.jpg

All smiles and happy!

I could sit on Main Street for hours, just feeling Main Street-esque. The parade started and the crowds between our little bench and the parade really packed in, so Mr. I put Dash up on his shoulders and we tried to stand up enough to see it. At that point, as tired as we all were, it was more important to have a place to sit, than to have a great view. We managed to see enough of it, though when Mr. I and I take our couple trip, we are going to try our best to get a front row spot!

Mr. I holding a 64 lb Dash on his shoulders. My hero!! :lovestruc

After the parade was over, I decided we should head further up Main Street toward the exit, so we wouldn’t be dealing with the massive cattle drive that happens at the end of Wishes. Jack-Jack was getting fussy and I didn’t want to push a stroller full of screaming baby out of the parks in a full on crowd. I headed to the candy shop and bought Dash some more cotton candy, his favorite, and Jack-Jack his very own lollipop. This was my last ditch effort to keep him happy long enough to watch Wishes. We found a spot against the rail by the Flag Pole. Not the best viewing spot I’ve experience but a worthy compromise considering all the factors at play.

DSC00796-Copy.jpg

Lollipop, lollipop, oh lolli lolli pop!

DSC00798.jpg

My cheeks feel all weird!! Why won't they move?!

DSC00801.jpg

More cotton candy!! Score!!

The lights dimmed….. on the front half of Main Street. They didn’t dim the lights back on the Flag Pole half. I thought they would… this surprised me. But nothing I could do about it. The music started and the fireworks began and I got that happy feeling. That feeling you get when everything is as it should be, and all is right in your world.

And that feeling lasted for all of 3 mins. Jack-Jack was done with the lollipop. There was no more distracting Jack-Jack. He was D O N E DONE! He was screaming, and nothing I did made it better. I held him, I bounced him and he still screamed. He had officially reached his melting down point. And I wasn’t about to let him ruin everyone else’s experience. I put him back in his stroller and pushed him to the exit. The rest of the family came too. We loitered outside the gates, catching as many fireworks as we could, but it wasn't the same as being right in front of the castle with the music and both sides of the castle in view. :sad2: I had attempted to see Wishes probably four times and was 0 for 4 this trip. Next trip I promised myself!!

The upside to leaving halfway through Wishes, was that we were first in line for the second bus and got to sit down on the way back to Pop. By this time, Jack-Jack had decided he was feeling ok again. :confused3

When we got back to the room, we gave the boy's a bath, and had dinner at Everything Pop with a pajama clad Jack-Jack. Dash got to play with his birthday gift from Honey and Frozone, which he loved loved loved. We turned in around 10pm knowing we had an early morning ahead of us the next day.

Dash rocking his police uniform! He loves that thing. As a matter of fact he is playing dress up with it as I type this update!

Up next: Our last day in the park!!!!! Would there be any Soarin’ FPs left? Would we make it all the way around the World? Would everyone enjoy Tutto Italia? Would we get to ride TT And MS?

Stay Tuned!!!

I also think there is absolutely nothing wrong with pushing a sleeping baby in a stroller. In fact, don't some love motion? I'm sorry you felt so bad. I would've done the same thing.

Jack-Jack sleeping in his stroller is one of the most precious pictures ever. He is such a cutie pie. Where can I buy a police uniform like Dash has? My son would LOVE that!

Great update. I'm sorry you had to miss Wishes again. :( I've never actually sat down and watched it either.

oh my goddess you missed Wishes AGAIN! It's been so long since all the things you told me about your trip that i really couldn't remember if you'd gotten to see it or not, and i've been hoping so much that you did get to! i'm so sorry you didn't

i'm so glad you and the boys are feeling better and you're back up to posting!!! i miss my twinnie

Oh no! I'm so sorry you missed Wishes again! :guilty: At least you got to see a few minutes though...sigh. :sad2:

I was reading part of this update with Henry in my lap and when he saw the picture of Jack-Jack eating the lollipop he said "Yummmmm! Mmmmm!" :rotfl: Then the next pic of Jack-Jack with his sticky face he starting laughing and said "Baby!". So cute.

I love the pic of Jack-Jack in his jammies at Everything Pop.

Jeez, I've been so busy I can hardly keep up! I'm glad you haven't moved too far ahead.

Great update! I love the pics of Jack-Jack. He looks so happy when he is a mess.

I hope all is going well now.
