Looking for reviews on Hoop Dee Doo. We have a day off between park visits. We were thinking of using two of our table service credits that night to see/eat at the Hoop Dee Doo show. (We arrive late on Sunday and wont use our Table Service credit that day). We have a 9 year old son and 5 year old daughter who aren't into Mickey characters (I know they are weird) so we are looking for activities on our "day off".

We love this show and go just about every trip. It is a great show for all ages, and the food is decent. We had a large group our last trip with ages ranging from 50 to 5 and everyone enjoyed the show.

Loads of fun! We too, go almost every trip it is a great way to spend time out of the parks. I agree that the food is decent-certainly not amazing by any means but solid picnic-type food.

We did Mickey's Backyard BBQ 4 years ago, when my kids were 1, 9, 11, and 12, and we were thinking we'd do it again this summer (kids will be 5, 13, 15, and 17), but I've had a coouple people suggest that HDDR would probably be better for the ages of my kids. The reviews are sounding really good!

The Hoop Dee Doo Review is one of the best shows anywhere, not to mention s is the longest running show in the US. The theming is great, the food wonderful, Moms in the kitchen cooking type and the strawberry short cake amazing time and again.

Yes the show is corny and wonderful in the process. You and the family will love it from start to finish.

My unpopular opinion is that it was okay once but wouldn't do it again. My kids enjoyed it but i'm not sure they'd beg to go back. So happy we got to see it once, the food was pretty good, but I wouldn't pay or use 2 dining credits to go back...

NOTE1: HDDR is a fun, corny, lively Western show. The food is average, but quite tasty for
comfort food and is all-you-can-eat for both the food and the beverages, even the nice sangria.
Good show for adults and children alike. As side info, HDDR is typically cool from air
conditioning, so take a jacket or sweater for everyone. Cat-2 and Cat-3 tables may have posts
in the view. For a truly unique evening, do an early show, then attend the Chip-n-Dale Campfire
meet-greet appearance, the marshmallow roasting, Sing-Along, and outdoor movie. Buy S'mores,
marshmallows, and other snacks at the campfire.

NOTE2: Food is served "family style" and is purposely slammed on the table. The menu includes
fried chicken, smoked BBQ pork ribs, cowboy baked beans, seasonal vegetables, tossed green
salad, fresh baked bread and strawberry shortcake, plus unlimited draft beer, wine, sangria
and soft drinks, Please be aware that the corn is now kernels in a bowl and not on-the-cob.

NOTE3: Show times are 4:00, 6:15, and 8:30. The doors open EXACTLY at the "show time". Yes,
they say to arrive 15-20 minutes early, but it doesn't do much extra good.

We loved it. We tried it on our first trip, and loved it so much, we went back again when we went with more of my family. The atmosphere is fun, the food is good, and the show is so cute. Even my daughter (who was 9 months old at the time) couldn't stop watching. We all really loved it. If we had the time to do it on our next trip, I'm sure we would.

Hoop dee doo is a must-do for us! We've gone every single trip the last five years and definitely booking for this trip in Aug. The food is good and the show is very entertaining!

We had a great time too. I don't know how we did it, but in our first trip there we managed to get a floor table, center stage, at the stage. I just looked at my wife as we were ushered to our table and said "uh, ok." If I'm honest the food was just OK, but it comes as much as you want. I ate as much as I could (the show isn't cheap) - but there is so much put in front of you, it would take an army (or older kids as mine were 8 and 5) to eat it all. My daughter just went to town on the salad, and even got a second bowl. My son, exhausted from the day, tried to fall asleep on my wife. The drinks come as much as you want too...so an easy way to stretch the dollar - have 3 to 4 drinks over the course of the dinner. Beer goes great with fried chicken. Mmmmm. The show was a lot of fun too. Being so close to stage, I became and easy target for the flirtatious one. My wife was in stitches over that. Would we go back again? Maybe...we are more foodie types and while the show was fun, we did it once. I suspect we would do it again once the kids are older and/or with newcomers, but not likely just by ourselves. It was however a nice peaceful getaway from the noise of the parks. My daughter toured Cinderella's Royal Stable before dinner, and my son enjoyed the playground. That shouldn't be underrated either.

Oddly, and not specifically related to HDDR - the kids (all the kids at our show) - got to see an armadillo grazing in the lawn nearby. No one knows how it came to be there, but it clearly wasn't afraid of humans. It was a unique experience for them to touch an armadillos shell. Wild!
