We are getting married at Disney and we wanted to have a dinner the night before with all our guests.
We don't want to have to worry about entertaining our guests...too many of them don't get along it
would just be too stressful trying to make sure everyone was having a good time.
We were thinking about the hoop-dee-doo, but we have never been there ourselves,
so I have a couple of questions.

Do you think this would be a good place to fun and still be able to have a
casual converation once in awhile with our guests?
How's the food?
Is it easy to get to from other resorts not using your own tranportation?
Is it worth the money?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I was there with my family last year and I can say that the entertainment is fun but not conducive to having conversations with friends and family. Keep in mind, it is a dinner show and they are performing while you would be eating. They do take small breaks in the dinner show from what I remember.

How's the food?

The food is ok. Chicken, ribs, corn-on-the-cob, your basic backyard home cooking fare. The cornbread is very good. This is not gourmet food though and is served "family style" so as long as your expectations are in order, it should not be an issue. If you have very picky eaters, maybe not the best place.

Well, if you are staying at another resort, you would have to take a bus to a park and then to Fort Wilderness or your could take the boat from MK.

They do have buses to every resort outside in the parking lot after the show lets out to take people directly back to their resorts.

Is it worth the money?

We were on the DDP and we felt it was worth two table service credits. I would say it is worth the money as long as you know what you are getting. The show is a little hokey but enjoyable and there is a lot of interaction with the audience. The food is ok, but you are really paying for the entertainment. We enjoyed ourselves and we felt it was one of the highlights of our last trip and we will be going back this year.

This is a great show and a great evening; however, you will really only be able to talk to your gets for the first few minutes of the dinner when not much is going on. You cannot get up and walk around or mingle.

The show is perfectly "timed" so there will not even be any time to linger after the meal unless you do so outside of Pioneer Hall.

While I think it would be a great treat for all of your guests, it's not really conducive for any kind of mingling/talking, etc.

Thanks! It sounds great!
As far as the conversation goes...I just didn't want to sound rude and say that I don't really want to talk to them:rotfl:

I think everybody will have a good time either way.

Thanks again

Hi, we just got married in Disney in March. We did the hoop de doo along with 48 of our guests. We also have people who did not get along(divorced parents). It was perfect because everyone had such a great time. There is no time for converstations except during the break in the show to eat which is perfect for everyone who doesn't get along, they are not forced to talk to each other. we had several different tables reserved so not everyone had to sit together at the same table either. If you plan on doing this I would go through you disney wedding planner to make the reservations. Our guest paid thier own way for the Hoop Do Doo but had to pay through the wedding, we just collected the money from everyone. I would definitly recommend it. Some of our guest said it was one of the best things they did at Disney besides going to our wedding.

Isn't family with divorced parents fun ;)
I didn't think of booking it through the planner.
I definatley think that we will be doing this.
THANKS!!!

Here are some pictures of our guest at the show. You would never know we had people who didn't get along.

If you don't mind the lack of conversation, I think it would be great. Sort of wish I had thought of it.
