I made our Hoop dee doo reservation for our whole family.....on FD, 8:30show, category 1. I didn't have to pay in advance, just put a credit card guarantee.

So my question is my son is suddenly not interested in this show....so hubby is thinking if he still feels that way that day, hubby and son will go somewhere else to eat that night. So if we reserved for 5, show up with 3, will they only charge us the 6 credits for the people who actually stay and eat or the 10 credits that we reserved?

I'm hoping that once we get there and start having fun he'll loosen up...right now his attitude is that it's corny and "stupid" (typical 12 yo, right but going on about 50). Maybe once he stops worrying what "everyone" thinks he'll get in the mood to let loose and be the kid he SHOULD be, lol.

Most of the time your whole party has to present to be seated.

They will charge you $10 per missing person.

You credits will not be used for the 2 people that don't show up there.

Are dinner shows different from all other "credit card guarantee" ADRs? I have made reservations for 4 people several times and shown up with only 3 and not been charged the $10. I know that I have read many, many posts where it's said so long as at least one person shows up it's not a no show and there won't be a charge.

But I'm not sure I've seen this question posed about the dinner show. I know with the Dining Plan you do NOT have to pay in advance, so how would they charge full price if less people arrived?

OP, I'm thinking your best thing would be to email Disney and get a written response. That's a lot of credits to lose if your son doesn't want to go. I have to say I agree with him, I've often thought this show sounds very corny, and since that's not my style, it's not one I've been enthusiastic about going especially given the high cost. But I know a lot of people think it's wonderful, so someday maybe I'll try it.

Per Disney website, under the terms you agree to when making a reservation, Dinner shows must be canceled one day in advance, otherwise you will be charged the entire amount.

@Connie they would charge full price because even thought the OP didn't pay, they put a credit card down to guarantee the reservation.

Totally not your question, but DS16 went for the first time when he was 14. I've never seen him laugh so hard!
I was just there in Dec. with a 19, 15 and 11 year old and they had a blast!
Unless your DS already been and has formed his opinion from experience, I say drag him there! You won't regret it. The Hoop Dee Doo can get even the most sullen tween/ teen laughing. :thumbsup2

(And it is corny and stupid, but he'll have fun just the same!)

DDP credits are only good for Category 2 and 3 for HDDR. I'm not sure you'll even be able to use your credits for category 1. You probably shouldn't have been able to reserve without paying the full price in advance. I'm not sure how this one will work out.

You can use your DDP credits for cat 1, but only for the 8:30 show. All the other dinner shows, you can only use them for cat 2 or 3.

OK sorry. Loophole that I didn't remember. We have the 4pm reserved for Cat 2. The little ones won't make it to 8:30.
