Hoop Dee Do vs Whispering Canyon

Planning on going to MK on 6/4 and am trying to decide, late I may add, whether to get a PS for either Hoop Dee Do Revue or Whispering Canyon. I will be with DW, DS (7) and DD (5). Figured it would be easy just to take the boat from MK but don't know which one to try to do since we have never done either. Heard great things about HDD but don't know if my DW would go for the limited menu (doesn't do fried well). Any help would be appreciated.

At this late date, getting tix for HDD will be next-to-impossible. They often sell out a year in advance. You may luck out and nab a cancellation. But I wouldn't bet on it.

Whispering Canyon is colorful and fun, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. We had breakfast there a couple years back -- it was great, and the food very satisfying. Dunno what their other meals are like.

I'm in the camp that HDD, although enjoyable, is pretty darned expensive. Whispering Canyon isn't the same experience, exactly, but it's fun and the food's decent (and more choices than HDD), and you'll have the rest of WL to explore as well.

I vote for Whispering Canyon. I've read some disapointing food reviews on both restaurants, but back in the day, WC was FUN! If you play along with the servers, it is great fun. See if they still do horse races, stick horses, for the smaller children. There is no show, but there used to be great make-it-up-as-you-go character interaction. Character=non-furry type, someone like the mean deputy or something. Everyone plays a small-town person from the Pacific NW town of Whispering Canyon. I helped open this place in '94 and we took pride in providing "dinner and a show" without anything official or rehearsed. The food was great back then, but that was before they offered a variety in the menu. If anything, the Lodge is a beautiful place and it is worth seeing. there are hidden Mickeys all over and the pool area is so unique! Good luck in your decision!

You have to be in the right frame of mind to go to WC. That place sometimes gives me a headache.

I have done both. Tough decision....HDD is very expensive but alot of fun , unfortuantely,the food (IMO) sucks. WC, I had more fun at, less expensive but, unfortuantely, the food (IMO) sucks!!!
