What is the difference in the seating areas? Are there any bad seats?

Category 1 and 2 are on the main floor and category 3 is the balcony. There is a seating chart somewhere on the Disney website in the reservation info.

We were in the balcony and had a great view. But there are some pillars that can block the views for some people in cat 2 and 3.

Take a look at the info here on the DIS. It should help answer some of your questions. Obviously Category 1 is better than 2 which is better than 3.

We were there last week and had cat 2 seating. Great view, we were off to the right hand side close to the stage. Cat 1 obviously had better seats, but I can't complain about ours.
