We went to HDDR in April on the dining plan. When I made the ADR 180 days out I told them that we would be on the dining plan and it wasn't a problem. It was two TS "credits" and we were limited to a certain level of seating (level 2 maybe?). It worked out great - we had 12 people (including 7 kids) and we were seated at two tables at the back on the floor. We picked up our tickets at the front desk at CSR. All in all it worked out really well.
I'd just add that we did HDD this year in February & they had no DDP seats left. We paid OOP so we had "better" seats up front. I think the DDP seats ("level") are better than the at the front seats.

I am curious to why you think the DDP seats are better than the ones at the front? I am going to be going to HDD for the first time in January and just want to know.

IMHO, the level 3 seats - up on the balcony - provide a better vantage for seeing everything than any seat on the main level. There's more neck craning from the main floor than from up top - my preference would be to look slightly down to view everything than to look slightly up.
We were about a row from the stage and paid dearly for it. We still had to turn chairs to see (a common complaint of those in the balcony). If they were seats included in the DDP it would have been one thing - paying extra for them - not worth it in our estimation.
Hoop De Doo and CRT and a couple of others are soo busy that even though you are on the dining plan you must reserve using a credit card and will be charged if you cancel without enough prior notice - 48 hours I think.
You will not pay out of pocket if you use your ddp credits which means 2 ts credits for hoop de doo.

As someone who sat in the front, I can answer that. When we went (October 2006), they didn't do the tiered seating with the DDP. I thought we were getting GREAT seats as the host started leading us to the front of the restaurant. However, we KEPT walking closer and closer to the stage and ended up at the first table to the far left of the stage. We could see everything, but had to crane our necks to do so. Stuff that happened on the right of the stage or toward the back of the stage was difficult to see without moving chairs or straining.
This picture shows our angle...that's MY head:
We WERE up close and personal, though.
Enjoy the show. I really did have a great time regardless of our table. The whole show is very entertaining.
