Do you think that it's a good value and what is the cost and the type of food they serve? What are the best show times and what are your views?

We went last year and the food was fine. I remember the refills were hard to get. We had to sit at the upstairs balcony and turn sideways to see the stage. That was uncomfortable after awhile. The main floor diners seemed to have a more attentive wait staff. Maybe the one we had was new. My son liked the silly jokes that were told. We enjoyed it okay and we’re glad we did it once, but we won’t be going back again.

We loved the HDD! We went last year and we are going again in September. Our face's hurt from laughing sooo much! :rotfl2: We sat on the floor (front) next to the piano. The food was ok- wasn't great -but it was good. We didn't care for the ribs (or corn) but the chicken was good. You can request chicken fingers and fries for the kids (if you want). I think you have to request it ahead of time. It seems expensive- but remember you are paying for the show too. :teeth:

We have gone to this show twice, and both times were Sundays, our arrival day. We book the last show, I think it is 9:00 and it is not crowded. They don't even fill half of the main dining room so no one is upstairs. (balcony) Even with two boys about to turn 5 (party of 12) we all had a blast. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

We just went in January and had a great time. The food is okay, nothing great, but not bad either. The show was really entertaining. It's all slapstick and yuk-yuks:) My dh hates musicals or shows of any kind other than "theatre" and even he was laughing and said he had a good time. We went to the 7pm show on a sunday. I think it was about $50 per adult. We were all glad we went, although none of us think we need to see it a second time, but that's just us. For some on the disboards, it's a tradition. Hope this helps-Rebecca

The adults in our group thought it was fun, and the chicken was good, but not necessarily something we'd do again. The kids, though, thought it was one of the BEST things we did while at Disney! They even put on their own Hoop-De-Doo show after we got back!

I'd say it's worth doing at least once, if you think you might like it :) One tip: the sooner you make a reservation, the closer-up you get seated. We made a super-last-minute reservation and were clear in the back, and though we could still see everything ok, I'm sure it would have been even more fun closer in!

We just went to the Hoop during our last visit in Feb. It was a good show- very funny, but the food was - Yuck. I'm definitely glad we saw it once, but never again.

It's true, that the earlier you call the better your seating. We made ressies at least nine months in advance & we were directly in front of the stage. It was uncomfortable looking up at the stage after a while. The best seats are a couple of rows away from the stage IMO. We saw the 7:15 show & I thought that was a good time.

Have fun!

I've been to this show three times and I could go again! Of all the things we've done at WDW, this show is the favorite of both of my kids. As others have said, the food is mediocre but certainly not bad. I'm a bit of a food snob so if I can tolerate it fine, then it can't be too bad.

We've always booked the show several months before our trip and we always have had a good seat right down on the floor.

We always do the 5:00 p.m show. We will go to Magic Kingdom that day and tour until about 4:00 p.m. Take the boat over to Fort Wilderness. With the 5:00 p.m. show, you are eating at about 5:30. It is a nice break during a hot day. After the show, we always go back to the park.

We are thinking of trying this for our November trip. Do you think it's too late to book to get good seats? Are there any bad seats? This actually sounds like fun.

:thumbsup2 We loved the Hoop De Doo! We sat on the main floor(at our request)and found the show quite funny and entertaining, the food was good and we had no problem with refills. I believe we were at the 7:00 show, which worked well for us. It is a definate must do in our books!

We went a few years ago. We have some great videos of the kids having fun. We were at a table right in the middle of the floor. Some of the performers paid a lot of attention to our kids. I remember the food as being so-so, but the entertainment was good. The kids loved it and we will probably go back there again some day.
