I have been to Disney many times. However, this will be my first time attending any Dinner Show. I am going to the late show of Hoop De Doo on March 15th. Disney just updated the hours and Magic Kingdom will be closing at 10pm that night (I thought it would be later). I read an old post that says that if Magic Kingdom is open you must go to Magic Kingdom and take a resort bus back. However, for us the part would be closed for at least 30 mins.

Has anyone experienced transportation from Hoop De Doo when Magic Kingdom is closed? Do I still have to go to Magic Kingdom and experience the park closing madness? Any help is appreciated!!

Thanks in advance!:flower1:

Unless there have been drastic changes since I was last there, buses to and from TTC are a 2 minute walk from Pioneer Hall. No need to go by way of MK.

I am not sure how it will be handled but you will not be left at the Fort. if MK is closed I would guess there will be buses taking to the resorts. assuming you dinner/show ends around 10, getting out of the Hall and to the boat plus to MK it will be close to 1030 if you make the first boat which is not a sure thing. I would ask the CM that day how they are planning on getting people back to resorts that night. uber/taxi back to your resort will need a bus ride to other end of campground. Minnie vans has a place in the area of the Hall to pick up but I do not know where

that seemed to change last year and they were sending people back to MK to return to resorts. plus TTC does not have buses to resorts anymore unless monorail is down and they are busing to monorail resorts

This would be a great time to use a Minnie van if you are staying onsite at a Disney Resort that has the Minnie van service.

That's sounds like a big change. Not sure when this occurred, because it's been years since I stayed at the cabins. How the heck do you get to Epcot, AK, or HS from Ft Wilderness now?

from the buses at the front of campground for all parks other than MK. take an internal bus from your loop to the bus stop at the front and get on bus to what ever park you want. for our young granddaughter last year biggest disappointment was not being able to take a bus back home from the Fort as they were one of her favorite rides of the trip

I guess TTC got too crowded. That's too bad; it was really convenient taking that blue flagged bus from the Settlement Trading Post area.

we are the type of family that never makes in the first boat when we eat at trails end. That gives me little hope after leaving a crowded Dinner Show. HA. But at least I know there are options. I don't believe Minnie Vans are at PORFQ yet. But that could change by the time I get there. I tried calling the CM and they had no idea what i was talking about.

Exactly! I just wish Disney had some kind of plan for the late show. It makes me want to move our reservations up, but that would really cut into our park day. :(

I know it is different in that we stay at the Fort but we always go to last show. for us it made a big difference as we did not have a golf cart and used buses. without all the extra buses for other resorts was a lot easier to get our bus after the show this past trip. it all depends on MK closing time which changes I am sure there is a plan but not sure how it will work that day. call center is not at WDW and most likely the CM has never even been to the Fort. good chance that early shows are booked already even if you tried to change. early shows will have to go to MK to get back to resort last I knew

Minnie Vans are beginning today (2/19) at POFQ.

I’m trying to find out just how much access Minnie Vans have at FW. On the FW board, they are seeing the vans drop off all over FW. If this is true, then it’s worth the $25 for the Minnie Van for door to door service. Minnie vans can drop you off close to your room at POFQ not just at the lobby.

In November we went to the late show, but MK was open late so they did only send MK buses and sent everyone there to then disperse to their resorts.

Well that's good to know! However, it might be hard to secure one of the vans if it will still end up being a problem. I hate the unknown. I know I will make it back the resort, I just wish I knew exactly how.

That's what I was hoping. I started to worry when i noticed the hours were updated but only to 10pm. I thought it would have been later as its Spring Break for us.

We went in December, family of 5, and used the minnie van service for the ride back, nice and easy. kids loved the music, the cast member driving was extremely nice, 20 bucks and the car seats included was a good price. Unfortunately Disney bumped it up to 25 so unsure if we'd use it again since our youngest wI'll be better at staying up later if we want to take the ferry or busses back to the resort for free.

They should have busses to take you directly back to your resort. Three times we've been they bundled the busses into resort areas, so they went to like Epcot resort area, AK resort area, etc. We were at WL two of the times and they even bussed us back there because the boats had stopped running. The busses we're right outside by Pioneer Hall, so didn't have to go down to the normal bus area at Fort Wilderness.

Best way to get to Epcot would be either to take the boat to MK or CR and take the monorail, changing at TTC. Or take one of Fort Wilderness's internal busses down to their bus stop for parks and take the Epcot one. Or, take the boat or walk over to WL and take their Epcot bus. This would only work if Epcot is still open.

We just did the late show at HDDR last week, and MK was closed when we were done. When you walked out to the bus station, they asked you which resort you were staying at and directed you to the bus that would take you back to your resort.

Thank you!! I will head that way instead of heading to the boat. :yay:
