Hi! Could someone explain to me how making a reservation w/ the dining plan works? I was trying to make the reservation online and it was going to charge the amount to my cc. (I had selected category 2 seating) Do they charge the full amount to your card and credit that back and use the dining credits when you pay? TIA!

You have to link your reservation with your dining plan when you make your ADR. It doesn't always work (one tip is that they won't ask you for the breakdown of adults vs. kids vs. infants when you are just doing a cc hold). Most will just call to make the ADR so they aren't accidentally charged.

There has been this flaw in the online system for the HDD for a while now. If you don't want to have your credit card charged you should just call Disney Dining and they will use your dining plan to book it. They will need a credit card to hold it but they won't charge it. You will have to give them your reservation number.

Same thing happened to me. I linked my reservation # when I tried to book and it still said my cc was going to be charged. So I just called Disney dining and booked it.

I made my reservation on the phone and they said they don't charge the CC when you're on the dining plan. That it has to be cancelled a day or 2 in advance (don't remember) and they take the card # in case you're a no show
