We are staying off sight at The Orange Lake Resort. We are going to the Hoop De Doo. We will not be going to any of the parks that day. We will have a car. Do we drive directly to Fort Wilderness? We will have a 90 year old in a wheelchair, so the easiest way there is our goal. Thanks for the help!

The standard way is to drive directly to Fort Wilderness, where there is a parking lot right off the road for people visiting (i.e. Hoop De Doo viewers). You then get on a bus that goes to Pioneer Hall. It's only about a 5 minute bus ride (if that), and the busses run regularly. That would be my first choice; it's direct and probably the fastest option.

Conceivably you could drive to, say, Wilderness Lodge, valet park there, and take the boat to Fort Wilderness. The boat dock at Fort Wilderness is right near Pioneer Hall, so there's no bus to take. The valet parking would be $15 plus tax and tip. This wouldn't be any faster than driving to Fort Wilderness directly. You'd only want to do it this way to avoid taking a bus, or if you wanted a boat ride or wanted to see the Wilderness Lodge.

You can also take a boat to Fort Wilderness from the Contemporary; same basic strategy as taking it from Wilderness Lodge.

park at the front of campground and take the bus to Hoop Dee Doo. unless it has changed in the few years, you will enter thru Trails End with a wheelchair. there is no parking for cars near Hoop Dee Doo

When you park at Fort Wilderness, you will be at the "Outpost." Take any bus that has "Settlement" on the marquee.

There are three different shuttle routes through Fort Wilderness, denoted by different colors. Any one of them will get you to the "Settlement" in about the same amount of time.
