Hoop de Doo ~ a video & report for you! October * MNSSHP * Characterpalooza 1/19/17 Update

Cyndi, I'm just seeing the post about your father and, while it's been a few months, I want to send my sincere condolences. I lost my father 16 years ago at age 52, when I was 27 and it still seems like yesterday........I do hope you and your family are staying strong, and that making all the plans for your Oct. trip is taking some of the sadness away.

Glad you guys enjoyed HDDR! We did it last August. I felt the same way you did before we went - not sure we'd like it but part of me wanted to give it a try. The kids loved it and DH got picked to be Davey the Angel lol! Plus I could eat that strawberry shortcake all night lol. DS9 asked to do it again on our Nov. trip but there are so many other places I want to eat, I promised him we'd do it on the next trip ('cuz we all know there will be a next one!)

Yay for characterpalooza! Also hit that (twice) for the first time on our Aug. trip. I was hoping to do it a couple times in Nov. but apparently now it's even more random and harder to catch.

LOVED the video!! I may or may not have teared up a few times...you have no proof!! LOL

My husband is also a firefighter here in Philadelphia. I'm so glad your family enjoys WDW and that your son has really blossomed with each visit.

Thank you :flower3: I may or may not admit that I tear up a lot when I watch Disney youtube videos, LOL! Especially before a trip!!!

Always great to meet another firefighter family :firefight

Thank you so much for your kind words - we are starting to get back into our new normal I guess? Planning has certainly been a way for us to escape reality for a bit and smile. I'm sorry for your loss - to lose someone is so hard, especially when your dad was so young.

How funny your DH was picked to play the angel - we thought that character was hilarious!!! LOL about the next trip - I always say this is the last time - and then I start booking stuff as soon as we get back!

I heard characterpalooza was harder to come by now. We're hoping to hit it again this time!!!

I'm back its been awhile, since then we canceled and then added many months later a trip! I need to get caught up!

Welcome back :wave2: Funny how fast time flies!!! Well the extra months will give you more time to plan, right?! Exciting! Are you going in May/June it looks like? We've been mulling over that time to go - especially June, it would way better for our jobs!

Yes we arrive June 5th, I tried to plan it for as soon as school gets out here, give or take a few snow days! Originally it was going to be the end of July so this is way better for us!

I know - I'm not too pleased about the closings at HS - we'll hop over a couple times, but that's about it now. And you guys will love HDDR, DH is begging to go this time, but we have a huge group, and can't get everyone on the same page!!!

DAY 6 ~ HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS, MK A&E MEET, EPCOT, VIA NAPOLI
:cheer2: Day six, this was our last full day, so we wanted to cram in as much fun as possible! We managed to hit three parks this day (this year, we'll try for four in a day)!

Since the kids (ok, and adults) absolutely loved Tower of Terror and Rock n' Rollercoaster, we decided to hit HS first thing in the morning.

Boat ride over....

Our last picture with the Sorcerer's Hat :grouphug:....

TOT and RNR

We stopped for quick service food while here too - just grabbing some pizza and chicken fingers to hold everyone over for a bit.

After HS, we headed over to MK - we had an important fastpass to use - Anna & Elsa!

We all agreed, this was probably our worst character encounter. All the hype and it lasted less than 3 minutes at most. The kids were basically shoved right out - really weird. I'm just guessing it was because they were busy, but it was still disappointing. We've decided not to get a FP for them this year.

Wandering around MK, with our new toy.....

Hit Space Mountain really quick...(I do great on all rides, but for some reason, this one made me kinda sick :crazy2:)...

Quick picture with the pumpkins (because there always seems to be a long line, and this time there wasn't)....

So next we had a mad dash to get to Epcot for our Via Napoli ADR. This was literally one that we ran to, LOL! We were running late, then factor in transportation, it was crazy. But the time we sat down for pizza, we were pretty exhausted.

The pizza, as always was great ::yes::!!! We made another ADR to eat there this year too. It's been great each time we've gone.....

Photo op outside of Via Napoli.....

After dinner, we met up with more friends of ours....

And, no trip to Epcot would be complete without trying some Beverly :drinking1....

By this time, it was getting pretty late, so we hit Test Track :car: a couple times (lines were not long).

After Test Track we made our way back to Beach Club. It felt like forever, just because we had been running around all day - we were literally crawling back to our room, LOL! The kids passed out immediately :faint: and the adults did some packing, since we were heading home the next day.

Up Next: Day 7 ~ Cape May Breakfast, Swimming, Airport

I'm with you on Space Mountain! I ride pretty much any coaster but I just don't like Space. In fact we just returned from our first family trip to Universal and DS13 and I rode every coaster there and LOVED them! Upside down, straight up, twisty, whatever, but even he isn't a fan of Space. It's too bumpy and jolts us around too much; has nothing to do with being scary, just uncomfortable! Maybe getting thrown around is why you didn't feel so great when you got off.....

Mmmm to Via Napoli :goodvibes It's been a couple years since we've eaten there but we have an ADR for Nov. Can't wait!

LOL - we go to Cedar Point - all the upside coasters too - no problem. Yeah, I think Space is just too bumpy or something for me, definitely not a smooth ride!!!

We seem to eat at Via each year. I always say we'll try something else, but who am I kidding, LOL - we love it too much!!! I hope you meal is wonderful in November!!!

It's been a loooong time since I've updated this report. We were at Disney this past October again, and we video taped the trip. Here's from our 2015 Disney World Vacation :)

Thanks so much for the great trip report! I loved reading it! We stay at the cabins at FW when visiting WDW and have not done HDDR and will definitely be going on our next trip! It looks so fun!!!
