I love garlic, but it doesn't love me. :sad2: I think I'm developing an intolerance to it or something. It started a year or so ago when I overindulged (had extreme garlic hummus, then had super strong garlic wings that night). I was sicker than a dog the next day. Now I can barely eat any garlic without really suffering from it.

It's horrible! I still eat it, but I know I'm going to pay when I do. :headache:

I don't get why some people hate the way it smells. I like it.
 
I love the smell of garlic, too, and I love the smell of onions. Sorry, I DON'T love the smell of skunks, though.

I LOVE GARLIC! :lovestruc :lovestruc However, like a pp, sometimes garlic doesn't like me. It makes me honk. :rotfl2: (I know, TMI, but I just couldn't "pass" up the joke!) :rotfl:

I LOVE Garlic!! I'm Italian so I HAVE TO love it. ;)

I would have it everyday, in almost everything, if I could but DH says I stink after having too much of it...especially if I have whole cloves either roasted or in something! I LOVE roasting the garlic and then eating it with some roasted tomatos on pasta or just by itself! YUM! :love:
 
HONK!!!! See my tag about bathing in mouthwash??? That is because one night for dinner I had something with garlic for dinner and the next day it just seeped out my pores!!!! My poor co-workers:hippie:!!!

Someone mentioned garlic ice cream. I tried that once. I thought it would be terrible but it was good.

Here is a quick "recipe" that I have for garlic....

- one glass jar with peeled garlic cloves.
- take some of the cloves out
- add several TBS of brown sugar
- fill with apple cider vinegar and cap the jar.

let marinate for several weeks in the fridge. The garlic will become very sweet and almost be like "candy"...... it won't taste much like garlic, but you will gain the healthy benefits. Just pop 'em in your mouth and eat them.

Barbara's Holiday Garlic Ice Cream

After a spicy, rich dinner, this dessert is a refreshing climax. It should not be served after a bland, garlic-free meal as the slight hint of garlic will be extremely offensive to some. The strawberry or other fruit topping can be eliminated, along with the sugar, and the resulting mixture can be served with roast beef in lieu of horseradish sauce.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 tsp Gelatin
1/4 cup cold water
2 cups milk
3/4-1 cup sugar
2 tblsp lemon juice
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups whipping cream
Strawberry topping (or other fruit)
Directions:

Soak the gelatin in cold water while you heat to a boil the milk, sugar and salt. Dissolve the gelatin in the hot milk. Cool, then add the lemon juice and garlic. Chill the mixture until slushy. Whip the cream until thick but not stiff and stir into the mixture. Freeze in a mold, or in a foil-covered tray.

Garnish servings with the fresh fruit topping. Serves 6-8.
