Honeymoon - where to stay???

So we are going on our honeymoon Sept 2- 9th. Any advice on where to stay. We've stayed at CBR so we want to try something different...but at same cost level. We don't want value. We do though want to stay one night in one of the fancier places....So anyone have suggestions for both????

So you can only stay moderate? I was going to suggest the POLY but that is Deluxe.

The only other mods are CSR, POR and POFQ... POR is gorgeous but we did not like it there, doesn't mean you wont I just don't recommend it (we had a couple of issues). I see people like POFQ and people love CSR. CSR can be nice for a honeymoon. I like CBR we stayed there a coupkle years ago.

Who knows maybe you can get a good deal and stay deluxe..Disney does have a bunch of deals going on so hopefully in Sept they will have something going on.

Have you tried POR? Because it is spectacular and cozy. I stayed at both and really still love CBR though! lol... we were almost going to stay for out HM (FH wanted the pirate room) but we are getting a deal on the HM suite in FWL so we've decided to do that!

POR is gorgeous but we did not like it there, doesn't mean you wont I just don't recommend it (we had a couple of issues). .

We had MANY issues there. It was the only time in my 7+ disney visits that I was no happy. There and Coronado Springs. Every other place we stayed was... the best place on earth. We could have just had a fluke experience though!

Me too. It was the only place we did not like at all.

Ugh I just can not stand the place. CMs were miserable there (yeah I know they can be anywhere but that is the only place where we dealt with miserable CMs) one of the CMs was very rude to Tim .I'm a happy person so I can not stand to have to deal with miserable people. They messed up other things too, so annoying. I was ready to go stay at POP if I could not get into the POLY. seriously we had a better stay at Sports than POR.

Just did not get the Disney feel from the place. The only thing I like about it is the decor. I have beautiful wedding photos from there. Oh and the guy who came to the room to get our bags when we were switching to the POLY was so nice and funny.

Us too! ANd fh and I are NOT ones to complain about things EVER! But it wasn't disney!!! The decor is beautiful but, I was just shocked by their impoliteness...even the cleaning maids were rude... would knock on the door (HELLO THATS WHY THE DO NOT DISTURB IS THERE) and yell in "Do u need cleaning today?? You no get today?"

Have you thought about one of the lower deluxes? AKL and WL are less expensive than the other deluxes, but they are great resorts. We have stayed at AKL and are staying at WL for our disneymoon

I think since September is a slower time, they typically release discount codes for rooms, so you may actually be able to afford one of the deluxe ones.

We'll be there from the 22-29, and saying at CSR, but if they release the discount (I believe last year it was 40%), we're definitely upgrading.

Look at renting DVC points and staying DVC. It's cheaper then a deluxe but a bit more then a mod. DF suggested this yesterday after looked at the price of a couple of standard deluxe rooms.

If you're looking for a mod I'd say POFQ

How do you find out about the discount? My parents will be staying in September as well...

Not just you, I had a bad time at POR as well... just didnt get the "disney" feel from it.

I did stay at POFQ though and loved it, very nice little pathways for a moonlit stroll and they have beignets in the food court which are to die for!

I have also stayed at AKL and it was wonderful. I had booked a non-savannah view room and when we got there they gave us an upgrade to the savannah! It was very calm and had a unique vibe to it, very disney, but different then the fairy-tale type disney feel I have got from other disney resorts. I would highly recommend it! Also they have a great lobby/lounge to have a nice glass of wine and watch sunsets and just relax. (Great selection of african wines)

I am staying at WL in Aug so I can give you that report then
