Honeymoon registry question

Hello all! So I have a question as to how the honeymoon registry works. I'm pretty sure I heard that whatever you register for, you don't actually get THAT item but whatever people purchase for you, it's just an accumulated amount on a gift card, is that correct?

Second question: As of now, we have the cruise portion of our honeymoon booked and are planning on adding a WDW stay later. When I went to register it says you can pick resort, cruise or both. Obviously I would pick both, but in that case, it says to put in your resort confirmation number, which I don't have yet, I only have the cruise confirmation number. Does anyone know if I do the "cruise only" portion now, if I can add the resort stay later or will it not let me register for that because it will see that I have already registered under "cruise only."

Does any of that make sense???

I didn't even know you could register for a WDW honeymoon! I live in Orlando so we won't be honeymooning at WDW but we're planning on registering for a honeymoon in general!

Sorry that doesn't help you but I like to hear that others are registering for a honeymoon!

Hehe! Normally we wouldn't register for a honeymoon but I love that you can for you Disney trip! I've wanted to do that since they came out with this a few years ago. BTW, I read about your proposal and I love it!! Congrats on marrying an imagineer! Now you're Disney for LIFE!

Yes you can register your cruise portion and then you should be able to add on the Honeymoon stay later

I'm doing the same thing and that's what they told me when I called. Use your Cruise Confirmation number now. The resort portion will be blocked out but everything else is available, restuarants and stuff. They said that they are changing the registry to have both available.

I had alot of trouble registering so here's some advice. If you registered with a travel agent, you will have to call Disney and change the phone number

Travel agents put their phone numbers on your ressies instead of yours and it will prohibit you from registering on the honeymoon registry. I had this problem and had to make a couple phone calls

Also be aware it takes a long time for the card to come in. The promo bag atcually came in much earlier. Again, I had to send some emails to get my card.

Hi There! i have registered for the HM and you are correct about the gift card. There is a honeymoon registry site that people can visit and contribute money to your HM. You register your gift card and can use that towards the hotel and dinners and such. It will show up as 100$ increments. If you say you want $1,000 then there will be 10 qty of 100$ increments. Also, I belive you can only have 3k on the card at any time. That is the max allowed.

I am not sure if you can do the cruise portion now, and add on hotel later. But when you add on hotel you will need a reservation #.

I registered thru Disney. I booked my wedding and hotel and once I signe dup for the HM registry I got my card in a week, so it seems as it that may not be consitent across the board.

Thanks everyone! I got a quick response from someone at the honeymoon registry and she said the same thing as mermaidbride...I can put in my cruise reservation and all the WDW options show up, just not the hotels and tickets. So I went on and I'm all set up! Thanks for your help!
