Hey ladies,
DF and I have decided to add this to our "registry list" because we have mostly everything we would need for the home...

What are your thoughts on this?
What are you adding to yours?
Do you think people would use this?
Anyone in the past who has used this what is your feelings on it?

Thank you lovely ladies
Jenny

What are your thoughts on this?
We did the same thing. We didnt need much for our home, so we made a little BB&B registry for guests who insisted on 'traditional' gifts, then focused mainly on the Disney HM registry! In the end, it paid for our entire honeymoon!! (6 days/nights including V&A!!)

What are you adding to yours?
We added anything we wanted! lol Everything from dining experiences to photo albums! Plus a lot of 'fantasy funds' that we could use towards anything! (of course, you can use the entire amount of the registry towards anything, as long as you dont feel guilty NOT buying those giant Mickey & Minnie bobble heads Aunt Fran bought you :rotfl2: )

Do you think people would use this?
It depends on your family. Some of ours were not as open as others, and it took some explaining and convincing, but in the end everyone thought it was a great idea!! Why get us useless stuff when you could get us a gift we'd REALLY enjoy!!

Anyone in the past who has used this what is your feelings on it?
All of the above lol. We LOVED not going in debt over our honeymoon. We were able to experience things that we would never pay for ourselves. I say do it! :wizard:

We did the "traditional" BBB registry as well! We were taking thigns off of it yesterday though lol...
So basically if someone buys you the mickey bobbleheads you dont actually have to buy them? I'm not sure how this works! Would you mind explaining..sorry to be a pest!!

oh its fine!! :)

Its best explained in 2 parts....

First...registering/buying...

Ok, so lets pick an item...say....'Dinner at Beaches & Cream'.

A dinner for two there would be aproxx $30. But you have to register for 'increments'. So lets say the Beaches & Cream increments come in amounts of $10 a piece. Well, if dinner for 2 is $30, you need to register for 3 increments ($10 x 3 = $30). Then, when your guests go to purchase a gift off the registry they buy individual increments. So technically, 3 different guests could buy 1 $10 increment a piece, and that would give you a $30 dinner at Beaches an Cream! OR, one person could buy all 3 increments...it can be divided up however!

Second...

Using your registry card...
When you register your honeymoon Disney will mail you a gift card. DO NOT LOSE THIS! lol...it is what holds all your gift purchases! It can not be replaced!
When items are purchased off your registry the increment amounts (dollar purchase amounts) will be applied to your gift card. So lets say someone buys the 3 increments at beaches & cream like i was talking about above. Well, now you have $30 that is applied to your gift card. Now, you do NOT have to use exactly $30 at Beaches & Cream, infact, you dont have to go to Beaches & Cream at all!! You simply have $30 on a gift card, good at any Disney retail or dining location! See how cool that is??? :)

What are your favorites things on the Registry you would love to have or do?

what happens to the balance if you dont use it all on your disneymoon?

You still have it on the gift card to use at a future date. You cant get a cash refund unfortunately, but im pretty sure the blanace remains on the card for a long time

Thank you so much!
One last question... Do you get registry cards to send to guests or should I make one that explains everything? Those of you who have used it what did u do?

Jenny

How do you make this program work for guests who aren't internet or tech savvy?

We used it and loved it. My DH and I have been together since 1992 so we have EVERYTHING we need for the house. When my friends gave me my shower most got things off the reigstery.

We used it in Disney for our honeymoon but still have almost $400.00 left on it so we are heading down in March for DH's birthday and May for my birthday. Hopefully we will use it all up.

They have small inserts that you can print out and include with your invitations. You can print them from the registry site. HTH

I think they may even have a 1-800 # for less-than-tech-savvy guests :thumbsup2

I searched the site and found this :)

What if my Friends and Family do not have access to the internet?

A. Your Friends and Family can give a gift via phone by calling 407-566-7272, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm EST

I have a question about the regisrty? (sorry to hijack your thread) can you registar for the deluxe dining plan. I'm planning on renting DVC points for a stay at the Beach Club.

thanks.

I was trying to look for you and my computer won't let it load!! (Hijack away by the way, I was going to ask the same thing!!)

If you go to the honeymoon page they have this like, preview type thing (if that makes sense at all?) and you can go through them. I can't remember if there is a dining plan on there though!

I don't thing they have it on there. I know that they have different restaurants though. I could be wrong but I know when I set mine up I didn't see it on there.

Yes you can! We're staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas via DVC for ours, and still using the honeymoon registry to pay for our Dining Plan as well as our Park Tickets (an extra's hopefully) :yay:

Thanks, I want to do Deluxe Dining, and DF is questioning it. I plan on getting it and using it do a lot of signature dining during our 14 night stay paid for my dad.

The delux dining plan is probably you rbest bet since it offers choice places... I was thinking about it but the suite we are staying in has the concierge level which means that we will have the food for free...
