Hello!

Getting married in april and toying with the idea of doing DL (since I've never been) and flying to aulani after. Has anyone done this??

How many days does DL take? I am DVC so just wondering!!

Thanks! Any other ideas for fun honeymoons??

Hi!

I am a native so cal Disney girl! Disneyland and California adventure takes about two days to do complete and explore. If you like to jump around and don't mind missing a few things you could do it in one day! There is a Disney bus that takes you directly to the resort from LAX and back if your landing/flying from LAX. Disneyland is a LOT less overwhelming and it isn't that much of a destination resort more of a locals park (you will see when you get here!) It is totally do-able to fly to Hawaii right after! We just did that a few months ago for our Hawaii trip! Have a great time!!

I felt compelled to reply to your post because I feel we are doing the exact opposite: We are heading to WDW (which I have never been for our wedding and jumping on the DCL for our honeymoon, which I have also never been) :)

Congratulations, and have an amazing time!!!

I'm a SoCal native too! I would say that if you've never been to Disneyland before, you'll want at least 3 or 4 days to see everything without feeling rushed, especially now that DCA has enough interesting things to keep you there for a full day. I have a page of Disneyland Tips for WDW Pros you might be interested in.

I also have an extremely detailed Aulani trip report you might be interested in, which includes planning tips and reports on all the things we did at Aulani and all over Oahu.

Congratulations!

DF and I went to DL for the first time last year (well his first time - I had done a half-day trip in my childhood) and we spent about 5 days in the parks. It allowed us to ride just about everything at least once, plus most of our favorites at least twice, plus we did the Walk in Walt's Disneyland Footsteps tour (so only about 4 1/2 days of on our own exploring in the parks) and could wait out early for World of Color, Fantasmic & the fireworks to get prime spots without feeling like we were wasting our trip. It was very relaxing and a total blast, and IMO the perfect amount of time.
