Day 3 – Swapping BB for MK

We were supposed to go to BB this morning but the weather didn’t want to cooperate. It was raining when we woke up for an early breakfast at Whispering Canyon Café. We both ordered the skillet and our server made us stand up and kiss for a 10 count after they announced to the entire room that it was our honeymoon. I didn’t ride a stick pony this trip. We bought ponchos on the way to the bus stop and off we went to MK again.

Crowds were low this morning and we headed straight for Pooh by hopping on the horse drawn trolley. You would be amazed by the number of people who wouldn’t move so the trolley could come by. Can’t you see the big horse headed straight for you? We only waited 10 min to ride Pooh. Next we tried the new Stitch ride which had a 5 min wait for the preshow. While I miss Alien Encounter, I did enjoy this except for the chili cheese dog breath. I don’t get why people don’t like it. I thought it was really cute! There was no line for Space Mountain but once we got inside we had to wait 10-15 min due to technical problems. It’s so weird to see it with the lights on. Once it was up and running it only took 5 min to get on. We had wanted to ride twice, once on each side, but by the time we got off, the line was long due to the breakdown. The right side would have to wait til another day. We grabbed a quick soda and went on TTA.

I’m pretty sure this is when it started to pour. Up until then, it had only been overcast and spitting but now it was full out downpour. Luckily we had bought some ponchos that morning so we took them out and put them on while on TTA (still the Wedway People Mover to me). We headed to Main Street for some browsing before lunch. I think this is when we ran into Scanne and her family (or maybe it was after we went to CP). It was nice to see you again Anne. We thought we had a 12pm ADR for CP but it was actually for 1pm so after fighting our way to check in we were told to come back in an hour so we headed adventureland. Here we met Rafiki and Timon for some pictures and autographs. The line for Pirates was at least 20 min and we didn’t feel like standing that long so we decided to hop on the railroad to kill the time before lunch. After 2 leisurely trips around the park it was finally time for lunch.

Before we ate I tried to find a house phone to check on our parasailing reservation for that afternoon. The heavy rain seemed to have stopped but it was still windy so I wanted to know if we were still on. I never did find a “public” house phone but the CM at the first aid station was kind enough to let me use hers instead of directing me elsewhere. At this point it was still a go. Lunch at CP was nice. We had never eaten here for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised. I got to see Piglet, Tigger, and finally Pooh right before we left. Eeyore had just passed our table when we went in and we didn’t want to be late for parasailing so we left without seeing him.

We hopped the monorail to the contemporary and found out that due to winds they had just cancelled the parasailing. Oh well, we rescheduled for the next day (and added another jet ski session) and took out water mice until our jet ski time came up. I really love jet skis! There was another group who went out with us – a man and his two kids all on one jet ski. They flipped it even before we got out of the no wake zone. Once we got to the jet ski zone everything was just fine.

We took the boat back to WL and I took a dip in the hot tub while DH rested and watched TV. We then got ready for dinner at CG. We arrived a bit early for our 7:10 ADR and requested a window seat. We browsed the Concourse shops while waiting for the pager to go off. We found the shirt that DH really wanted (Hawaiian style blue background with Mickey and Goofy to match the yellow one he bought last year) but learned that it would take up to a week to ship back to the resort. We really didn’t want to carry a bag up to dinner with us so we decided to wait on it since we still had plenty of time to buy the shirt. The hostess had told us we could wait up in the lounge so we decided to get some drinks before dinner but no sooner had we selected a table in the lounge our pager went off. The table location was perfect! Right next to the window in the area where the dining room meets the lounge. The view was amazing. After we ordered I did go out on the balcony to take a few pictures of MK at night (most didn’t come out).

Dinner was wonderful – I even tried steak sushi! DH also ordered a bottle of wine to go with dessert and the fireworks. It was amazing watching the fireworks from our table. I can’t wait until Feb when I can watch them from our balcony (DH is getting us champagne and strawberries for valentine’s day fireworks).

We were so tired when we got back to the room and my feet were killing me. This was the 3rd night I hadn’t soaked my feet. DH went to the front desk to see if any king rooms had opened up with a tub but no luck. They offered us a smoking queen room with a tub or we could move to AKL for a king room with a tub. While I’d love to stay at AKL sometime, we had so much planned at the CR marina and MK that it would have taken way too long to get there from AKL. We booked a MK resort for a reason. Well at least we learned our lesson about king rooms.

Coming soon - Day 4 – MGM and parasailing
