We have an '07 Odyssey and are thinking about updating the DVD data disc to the new version when it comes out this fall. Has anyone else updated your Honda / Acura Navi system disc, and did you actually see any difference???

There are generally two areas that will be updated. New streets for new developments and business information-- ie gas stations restaurants etc. There will be much more changes with businesses than with streets, especially with the recession. If you use your nav system to search for specific businesses or business types, then I'd get a new disk, otherwise, I'd recommend updating every 3-4 years.

Also, If you only use the search feature find gas stations, don't update. The names change on the stations, but they are still there.

Thanks! We haven't updated since we bought the van in '07 and it's actually running the late '06 disc. It isn't so much the streets that I thought needed to be updated, rather the POI's...

On a sidenote, I did find it funny that while we were in WDW this year, it wanted me to drive all the way out to the World Center Marriott to turn around and come back in the gates, simply to get to OKW. I even forced it to recalculate (using overpass rd) thinking that after recalculating once, it would realize that "the driver was right" :rotfl: Not so much!

Where and how do you purchase the upgrade DVD? We bought our van in '05 and the roads are WAAAAAAY outdated. We've talked about getting the upgrade but have never really looked into it. Any idea on the cost?

Google Honda Navigation and it'll take you to the official site. (I'd post the link, but I'm still working to get my post count up :-)

It's about $200fr the DVD, but Honda often sends out a "special offer" mailing. I think my last offer was foe 149ish?

We knew we needed an update when it started to say "are we there yet"?:rolleyes1
