I'm doing an essay on marketing and I have to pick a challenge and solution for my organisation - I'm using United Vacations and the downturn in travel in general with all the security issues etc.
Now I know everyone here has concerns but they are generally still traveling.

Is there anything that a tour operator(as opposed to an airline) could do when you were choosing them, to alleviate your worries about visa's, long check ins and general safety worries?? Such as a paragraph or 2 on the front page of the brochure emphasising safety records and giving suggestions towards visa requirements. Obviously I've made life harder for myself, picking United with all the Sept 11 issues and bankruptcy proceedings etc, but I've done all the research now for the other 3 essays and it's just this one that's bogging me down a bit.
Thanks for any help

Hi Elise - sorry you haven't had a response on this.

I think everyone wants clearly stated unambiguous and up to date information on the issues you mentioned. They would therefore need to ensure that they are saying the same things as the airlines and US Authorites. If they don't already, the tour operators should issue up to date paperwork clearly stating what is required by the US authorites (or other countries) regarding visa and passport requirements. Providing airport and security information - what will be expected of the traveller when they are at the airport, and what they can expect from the airport and airline to keep them secure.
