Does anyone of you made treats for your dogs? If so, which are your favorite websites to look for recipes? :dogdance: Thanks!

Yes, I have. Pinterest or food dot com . They have a great one on there for Pumpkin dog biscuits. I can PM the recipe link to you.

I slice a sweet potato thinly and drizzle it with olive oil. Sprinkle some cinnamon on it and bake it for a couple hours at about 200 degrees. The house smells great and the dog loves them (the longer you cook them the chewier they get)

I make this recipe, but because my poor dog is allergic to almost everything under the sun I make it with rice flour, canola or olive oil and omit the water. When using rice flour cook them for 12-15 minutes or they burn on the bottom.

  • ½ cup organic canned pumpkin
  • 4 tablespoons molasses
  • 4 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large bowl mix the pumpkin, molasses, vegetable oil, and water.
  3. In a separate, medium bowl combine whole wheat flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Slowly stir dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until the dough softens.
  4. Scoop out small spoonfuls of dough {about 1 inch wide} and roll them into balls with your hands.
  5. Set the balls onto a lightly greased cookie sheet and flatten them with a fork.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes
  7. Store in the refrigerator

This does look good. Where do you find your organic canned pumpkin?

I get mine at Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. Whole Foods had the cans 2 for $3 at Thanksgiving. You don't have to use organic, but I do because my dog is allergic to so much stuff. Sometimes I don't use the whole can so I freeze it in 1/2 cup servings in ziploc bags.

Thank you, mine is allergic also. so I would rather use organic as much as I can.

In the summer I make my own doggy ice cream... Peanut butter, honey and plain yogurt....then scoop and freeze in muffin pan
