Homemade lanyards

Has anyone made their own lanyards or do you prefer to buy? I know that they are around $10.00 each but making your own means no one else has one like you. They are easy to make and I cannot wait to wear them next year.

I love getting a lanyard as a souvenir on each trip! Also, I like that the Universal ones have the Velcro closure just in case they'd get caught in something!

I'm not that domestic to make lanyards

I made 4 sons and that was it for me to make home made stuff


I always get the current Hhn lanyard each fall

I am sure I will buy one also but it was fun making what I did. At least my lanyards will be original in knowing that no one in the park will have one like mine

I had a break away buckle that I bought when I was there in June but I might make another one with Velcro just to see how it will look. Thanks for the Velcro idea.

I prefer the breakaway lanyards

The Velcro ones I was always concerned would come undone and not realize it

I bought my FSU lanyard at lowes. Never seen anyone else wearing one. Very cool that you make your own though.

I like having my ravenclaw lanyard. It's something in common, a discussion point for lines, with strangers. I wouldn't trust my sewing skills to trust a lanyard I made. And having them be breakaway is important for safety.

WOW!!!! I love it and I adore the Dr. Seuss theme you used

Thank you!! I actually have 2 different Dr. Seuss theme material that I found. My goal is one lanyard each day for the 5 days I am there. (actually 3 park days) I am still planning on buying one at UO while there because it is always fun to buy souvenirs when on vacation. To me it is more rewarding to have that item to remember your great time at UO.

People meet up all the time on here.

At the moment it's a HHN thread where folks post their dates as a lot are there at the same time........and a September October meet up thread........

The threads are both in the stickies.

I make temp stickies for those months each year as so many go those months

Some are there for Hhn and some are there but will not do Hhn

Last year some of us did meet ups at city walk for lunch or dinner
All brought their families as we include all in your party

About a few weeks out, we organize dates, times and places

We exchange private info by pm


If anyone is ever interested in a specific month meet up thread, I can sticky it so it gets more reads and attention
