homemade bread?

we are snowbound yet again and I am thinking it might be fun to make bread with the kids today. haven't made bread in many, many years, and no longer have my breadmaker so this would be by hand. I do have my kitchenaid mixer. and I do have some yeast I bought last week, thinking that it might be a fun activity on a snow day.

so now I need a good recipe. anyone have any to share?

I don't have a bread recipe, but I wanted to offer a little hint I recently picked up that really helped me get the dough to rise properly. All you have to do is put it in the oven and leave the oven light on. It gets just warm enough to rise the dough perfectly. My bread used to come out so bad before I read this trick. Now it is awesome.
