Homemade Autograph Books Increase Character Interaction: Includes Pix of John/Kevin

I know that no one has posted here for a while, but I wanted to add my thanks for the great idea about these autograph books. I made a book for my daughter and my niece as Christmas gifts. We took them on our recent vacation and the characters LOVE them. We had a great time making the books, and the girls had fun using them. I'll be doing this again for our next vacation - whenever that might be!

Thanks so much for posting this. You really made my day! I'm glad it was some help to you, and that your Daughter and Niece liked them as Christmas gifts.

The books are fabulous and that is coming from an avid scrapper! I usually just take blank books and then decorate them after but I love the character interaction that this must have added for your girls. Do you have any idea of the cost of the covers and the binding at Kinkos? Any sites that you would recommend for clipart? Feel free to pm if you prefer.
Thanks
Kim

Hi Kim (one of the many on the Podcast boards), you can find lots of clip art sites on the web. Below is one, but you can google "disney clip art" and find a lot of them.

I want to say the cover and binding for the books was about $10-$15 for two of them at Kinko's. It's a little hard to remember because the last time I made them was this past July, but that sounds about right.

Have fun with them.

Your autograph books are AMAZING! What a great idea, and thank you for sharing!

Would you mind if I asked where you get the Disney font, I googled it, but I can't figure it out.
Thanks!!

Boy, it was a while ago I got the Disney font. It's called "Waltograph", and I think I downloaded it from one of the Disney clip art sites. Try googling waltograph and see if it comes up.

Thank you so much, I tried that but duh... I cant figure out what to do now. Does the font come up as an option in word ?? or how do you use it?? Sorry!

You have to install it in Word (I think). Try looking in Word for installing new fonts.

Go to your Fonts folder in your Control Panel and there you'll have an option to install a new font. You'll just have to browse to wherever you saved the file.

Thanks Annette. I did this about 4 years ago, and I didn't remember how I did it.

Also check out the Creative Community board on the DIS. I found some great stuff a few years ago to made autograph books. Our little ones brought their books back this year to see if they could get all of the signatures they missed on the earlier trip. I don't have any good photos of the books but you can see it in the picture below. Each character is in the corner of the page. I used the Waltograph font to personalize. I printed pages of the books on card stock. Kinkos had a great paper cutter that I used at no charge to cut them to the size I wanted. I also laminated the first and last pages there. It was pretty inexpensive for Kinkos to do the spiral binding (just make sure to leave some space for the binding or it will have holes in your pictures). The lady there loved the books too. As Dave mentioned, the characters loved the personalized pages.

I found this set of pages on the creative board this morning but I am sure there are plenty more -
There are also some great graphics for making iron ons for t-shirts. If you don't know how to do it, there are a number of people on the creative board that will help personalize things for you.

You guys are great! Thank you so much for your help. I guess I am a lazy creature of habit in a comfort zone with this computer! I have to wait until my kids get a little older so they can teach me! lol
Snow day today - so we are getting out act in gear and getting started!
