Hey guys. I am EXTREMELY new to scrapbooking, but have kind of gone wild on buying supplies (it is soooo much fun!!). My main reason was to plan for and make memories of a future trip to WDW. The other day SO came up with an idea and I wanted to run it by more advanced scrapbookers and perhaps people who have purchased homes.

SO and I have a home that he purchased last May 2003. It is definitely a fixer-upper, but when we are finished we hope to sell this home and perhaps buy another fixer-upper (this has been a great investment for us) if we haven't decided yet to start our family. :)

Virtually every room in the home is being redone, including extensive work in landscapping and to the exterior of the home. SO suggested that I take photos of the before and afters (unfortunately this idea didn't occur to us right away, so some work was done without photo documentation) and that I create a scrapbook from them that we could place out in the home...say on the coffee table in the living room, when we have a realtor show the home for sale.

I suppose my question is would perspective home buyers be interested in documentation of the home remodelling, and more importantly would having them in a scrap book format (as opposed to a photo album) be interesting or considered cheesy/silly/waste of time??

Personally, I think it would be great to show the care that the house had received.
I've done one scrapbook on the second house we built and plan to do one on the house we'll start next month. It's fun to look back. When we had our buyer come to this house I left out the scrapbook open to a 2 page spread of the 4 seasons. Since we have a wooded hill behind our house I wanted them to see the eauty of winter and summer and the wildlife. They said they appreciated being able to see the photos of the landscaping at it's peak.

Sounds like a great idea to me. I would love to see that if I were looking at a home. I wish I would of been scrapbooking when we remodeled our home. Those pictures are fun to look back at.
DD did do a book for her father last Christmas. He does makes cabinets, etc. on the side, everyonce in a while. So she did a book of all his "jobs". This way when someone wants to see his work, he can just pull out his book. It turned out great. He was very surprised.:D
