Ok, I made home made baby food for DD when she was an infant and now I want to make doggy treats for my dog.:)

A friend gave me an ingredient list but she cooks like my mother (a little of this, a little of that). Does anyone have an actual recipe they can share for dog treats or biscuits? Thanks!

I'm about to practice with her list but that is a disaster waiting to happen.

 When I make dog treats, I don't use a recipe, I just add the ingredients until it makes a cookie dough type texture. I use whole wheat flour, some wet dog food, peanut butter, a few eggs and some olive oil.
Blech!
Then I roll it out and cut into small circles or a dog bone shape and bake. He seems to like them.

Here's the one I use -

1.25 cups flour
1.25 cups whole wheat flour
1.25 cups corn meal
1.25 cups oatmeal
.5 cup brown sugar
.5 cup wheat germ
1.5 sticks butter
1 TB baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 cup plus a little bit of water

pulse all in food processor until a wad of dough forms. You can roll this out about half an inch thick and cut shapes, or I usually just press it into a jelly roll pan and cut 1x1 inch squares with a pizza cutter (use parchment or non-stick tin foil to line it). Bake at 350 for about 45 minutes and then let cool in the oven until they are crunchy. Break up squares.

You can add all sorts of things to this recipe - honey, peanut butter, beef broth, etc., by subsituting an equal amount from the wet ingredients (the water and the butter).

I've been making these for years - my dogs have always loved them.
