home lighting

We are looking to update the lighting in our home. Right now the fixtures are mostly brass/frosted glass. I am not a fan of brass. I've looked at Home Depot and Lowes but nothing really grbs me at either place. Where did you get your lighting fixtures?

Start at energy efficiency. We want to finish our basement and that is the first thing I am looking at.

As far as type of fixtures, you need to decide what look you want first. Are you looking for modern or something else? Nickel and chrome are old standby's these days.

We have quite a few lighting stores in our area. I light to go to a specialized store because they have consultants to advise you and lot of catalogs for different idea. Most places let you take the catalogs home.

I would look at lighting stores in your area. They will have a better selection and probably be more knowledgeable. We use a GREAT place out in the SW part of our state. They will order anything they don't have in their shop and are so helpful.
