We are home and had a great time. We booked another one for 2006. It is an alternataive cruise. We get to go to Castaway 2 times YEAH! I wanted to pass along some recommendations. I highly recommend the Palo Brunch. The Regatta at St. Maarten was worth the money as was the golf in St Thomas. I would pay the taxi myself in St. Thomas to take you to Magans Bay or Sapphire Beach if you want to snorkel. The parasailing in Castaway was great.

My DH and DS's wore Tuxs, but next cruise we will do suits. It was noce, but to hot for them.

We rented a van to get us to the port with budget and it was okay, but we hired a limo/bus from Southern Elegance for the ride to the airport. HAnds down that was the way to go. Especially if you are a large group.

We also highly recommend deck 6 aft. It was centrally located and great. We are doing it again!

Welcome home! Glad to hear you had a great time. Next cruise will be great with CC twice.

Hi Fairygodmother, we were with you on the cruise also. We were on deck 6 aft too. Where were you staterooms? We were 6108 and 6109.

If you were near us, sorry for all the banging from the kids coming in our room. That door was heavy!!:hyper:

how was halloween on the ship? do they do much for celebration?

We are also back from our Halloween Magic cruise. It was FABULOUS! I got a little chocked up on departure day when I walked by the crossing guard attendant with her Mickey Hand waving good bye.

Halloween was wonderful. We did the DIS trick-or-treat, and Disney also had a Halloween trick-or-treat which sent the children to different parts of the ship to pick up candy. There were serveral different costume contests through Disney. It was all well attended and a lot of fun.

It was "Jersey Week" on the boat with maybe 1/2 of the guests coming from New Jersey since the public schools were closed for two days for teachers convention.

We had such a great time. My MAGICal moment came about four days into the trip when my six-year old son came up to me and said, "Daddy, I really like the Disney cruise." That really tugged at my heart!

No plans yet, but I'm seaching for quotes for next year.

Also back from thr Halloween Magic cruise. Great weather, great ship.

The best part for me was the Pirates of the Caribbean deck party!! It was a blast.

We were on the Halloween 2004 Disney Magic cruise, as well (myself, DH, DS - 6 1/2yrs, & DD - 3 1/2 yrs). This was our first cruise ever and we loved it! We rebooked while on board for 11/11/2006 (alternate Western w/ 2 CC days). Once we got home, we talked to other family members and my sister's family is now booked in the cabin next to ours. Others are checking schedules, etc. to see if they can go as well.

While we were on board we heard a number of other cruisers (veterans) and CMs talking about how much rocking the ship was doing. We enjoyed it and I was actually a little sad when the movement lessened.

My son liked the kids' club, except that he requested to eat his meals with us. We also picked him up for certain activities, like the program given by illustrator Adam Burke on "How to Draw the Incredibles' characters", and then he chose to go back afterwards. Early in the trip he asked the kids' club counselors to page us to pick him up because he thought we might be having more fun than he was having. When my DH brought him back to where we were playing Scrabble he decided that maybe the kids' club was the better choice after all.

My daughter (red curly hair and attitude to match) was only dropped off at the kids' club kicking and screaming. However, I hung around (out of sight) and each time she was happily playing withing two minutes. Several times when I went to pick her up, she wasn't ready to go, but it was still a fight to drop her off the next time. She only spent about 20% of the time in the club.

On our St. Thomas day, my DD (our little drama princess) was once again asking to be carried. She refused to use a stoller and said her legs wouldn't work. We carried her to the kids' club and told her that if she could not walk and would not be pushed, then she was staying on the ship while we went ashore. She was screaming at the top of her lungs, "Don't leave me! I want to go the St. Thomas with you! My legs don't work. Carry me!!" We told her again that she could walk, she could ride in a stroller or she could stay in the kids' club. She crawled on her hands and knees out of the club, crying and saying "Don't leave me!" My DH was biting his lips trying not to laugh and the counselors at the desk in the club actually had to turn around they were trying so hard not to laugh where she could see them. After she calmed down, my DH talked with her quietly and she walked happily beside me all day.

One thing I liked about the wrist bands they put on the kids that are registered with the kids' club is that if your child does get separated from you while on boards, any CM can use the info on the wristband to send a pager message to you with info on where your child is located.

Anyway, we enjoyed the cruise and we're all looking forward to our next one!

We were also on the Magic, great Halloween fun! Our friend won scariest! The weather was perfect! We had a great time at Orient beach, the kids were in the waves the whole time! We took a taxi to Sapphire Beach in St Thomas, it was just beautiful!Castaway Cay looked pretty good, enjoyed the whole day there, banana boats are great fun, wear glasses! I can say my son and his friend did not enjoy the club, felt they were treated like little kids (10-12 yr group) He had fun when he was 9, but not now that he is older. The cove was a nice change, enjoyed the great coffee! We met some great people!

Hi We are back too. We had a blast. Some of the costumes were great.Glad everyone had a nice time. It was great meeting those of you I did meet.

knnisson, I am afraid that I would have been ROFLMAO with the rest of them if I had seen that. Unfortunantly my littl 4 yo DD would be able to perform that same scene quite well. :hyper:

Did you all get to meet Ginger and Dena? I havent seen them post yet.

We're back too (unfortunately!) and suffering from post-cruise blues! We had a fabulous time! I keep telling my family and friends about how nice all the DISers were and how great it was to meet everyone!

Re Ginger, I think they went to WDW for a few days so that's probably why we haven't heard from her lately.

Wasn't that TorTing great?!!!! The only problem was that I think we came back with more candy than we started with, and I was counting on using that extra space for souvenirs! Oh well, good thing I brought an extra bag!

We were on the Halloween cruise as well, and had a GREAT time!!!

Yes Lynda, we did wind up coming home with more candy than what we went with!

knilsson: The ship was rocking quite a bit. This was our 7th cruise with DCL, 3rd Halloween week and I have only sailed one other time where the ship rocked as much.

Dena::MinnieMo

Lynda I hear you on that. We came home with an entire duffle bag filled with treats. All the disers were so generous.::yes:: That was even after we ate some of the candy at the movies, t Disney on the plane. We don't even get that much when we trick o treat at home.

Hey i'm here too!! We had a great time and just like some of you I would love to find a way to afford another cruise.

My kids loved the T or T, and my older DS loved trying to decorate the staterooms. We have some pictures of the kids going from room to room.

Ginger did a great job of getting it all together and the paddles worked out wonderful.

I only have 1 thing about the kids programs, The Stack. DS 15 and friends he met said that alot of TALK was going on up there between groups and I thought that the CM's should have gotten involved. He would never say anything to them, but from what I heard not all the kids were kind to each other. Guess it's just kids, but that was 1 reason his group didn't go in. Also, alot of the activities that was for the teen groups didn't start till very late. Some kids don't stay up till 1 am.

Oh, I'm still rocking. When will it stop!!!

Michelle

I want to be back on our ship! Good to see you made it home safe and sound dis4me. Thank you for keeping me company on Friday. Aubrey had such a good time with the girls. I wish you were going with us again next year!

I agree with Michelle the Stack needs work. They really need a separate club for kids 13 -15. I really wasn't happy with the sex talk my children were exposed to. When I said something the girls harrassing my son lessened what they were doing but they still got to him a bit. DCL should be ashamed that they let that type of behavior continue on a Disney ship. I felt sorry for the kids roaming the ship and laying in elevators and stairs. They didn't get the experience they should have had on the ship.

Don't worry Michelle you will stop rocking soon. I was surprised I didn't feel it this year. I thought the ship was so calm compared to years past but I did hear others complaining of rocking. I didn't fell the motion but our room did creak horribly this year.

Our room creaked too! We never did track down its source but I got quite used to it as the week went on.

We got home this morning after two nights at the boardwalk to try and help us cure our post cruise depression. I miss my ship! Anyone else up for figuring out a way to get back on board and stay there? Short of marrying Mickey Mouse, I'm a bit stumped for ideas.
