Home/condos for rent in/around Orlando

Several folks have mentioned the option of renting a home or condo for a large group. I've found a few web sites offering rentals. Does anyone have experience with off-site, non-hotel rentals?

We've always stayed on-site, but I'm helping a co-worker who will be taking family+ and the group could reach eight or nine. That would quicky put them in three All-Star rooms, and a three or four bedroom home at $120/nite + tax is mighty tempting.

I would be delighted to hear experiences or other resources. Looking at a five night stay in September.

Premier Homes is listed on this site. Under Hotels and Resorts there is a listing for Vacation Homes. If you click on that it brings up some info. You could also do a search of Premier Homes to get some feedback. Everything I've seen on this board has been very positive.

We stayed at this condo resort last summer & it was great for out large, budget-minded family. Nothing fancy but so much space! 3 bedrooms, 3 full baths, 2 kitchens, dining area, living room with large TV and video player. Sleeper sofa in living room. Two other TVs. Screened patio. Big pool with some theming that the kids loved & another pool right near our condo (which they also loved. They aren't very picky!)

Cypress Pointe Grand Villas

It is very close to downtown disney & the Crossroads shopping center. We got around easily with two rental cars.

I think it was $155 in July. This rate was through go2orlando.

We have rented a house through Premier Homes for a couple of years, and will never go back to any other type of accommodation. The homes were superb - fully equipped, clean, nicely located, great pool. The freedom of being in a house rather than a room is priceless. The only downside was one of their office staff who enjoyes being sarcastic (he think's he's funny - we didn't)

Hi...we have been many times with kids and grandkids and always rented dirctly from the owners at vrbo.com and always been very satisfied....there are lots of listings so shop around..If you would like any specific input on any of the housing developemnts or condo locations let me know, either post here or email me...There is also a great deal of competition now, so always ask for the low season rate....go to vrbo.com, then to "central florida" and look at Orlando, Kissismmee, and Davenport...all the Davenport homes are just south of Disney and in nice areas for access to Disney. We have one 3 BR 3 Bath condo that we really love, but search for yourself, and let us know if we can help...we have found renting directly from owner saves you money and they really work with you...by the way a lot of the big rental companies have invaded this sight as "by owner", so be a little careful...you should not have to spend more than a 100 a night tops for a very nice place....enjoy...you will LOVE Disney...Ted

We just spent two weeks at a home we booked through a1vacations.com. We dealt with the owners and they were very helpful. If you go to that site look up the house sweetdreams. We had the best vacation. The house has 4 bedrooms (One is a bunkbed) all the emaenities,gas grill,tv in every room, washer dryer, 2 car garage, and the best part was the patio with your own private heated pool and hot tub. We were in it every day rain or shine and night too. It was such a treat to have your breakfast out there. The house is beautifully decorated and only about 15-20 minutes to Disney. There is even a community center across the street with a kids playground, tennis courts and a n olympic size pool (although it wasn't heated). We loved it there and my 6 year old daughter cried when we had to leave. She and I got up early that morning for one last dip, since we heard it was 10 degrees at the Albany airport.
