Exit 220 and 218 are both good.

Exit 220 go right off of exit and then left at the Chick Fil A, there are a couple hotels there.

Exit 218, go right off exit and a few hotels to choose from.

I avoid Morrow at all cost.

We will check out flight options next time. With a family of 5 though it can get pricey!

That was like us. By the the time we had gas to drive/from the airport (3 hours from home), flights for four, luggage fees, pay for the parking at the airport, pay for a rental car for 10 days, it's $700 cheaper for us to drive. And that's $700 US which for us Canucks means it's closer to a $900 savings.

How was the Training Academy? How early did you get to HS and how early of a show did you get?

Another recommendation to go on past Morrow and all of Clayton County. Crime has increased dramatically on the southside of Atlanta, as evidenced by the above link. (I thought the same thing as that poster!) I will say that I agree about Drury Inns and have in fact stayed at that one in Morrow years ago when my (now 18 year old) daughter did a state honor elementary chorus many years ago. It was a nice property then and I was quite impressed with Drury Inns based on it.

We arrived at 8 to avoid a lot of the stress. We essential,y had our choice of shows. But watch out, people will RUN YOU DOWN to get to the sign up. It's a very cool show thoug and well worth it, would do it again. Just get there early, sit in line with a book and your morning will be much less stressful!

Honestly thought they were fine. At least I never thought twice about them while there. Perhaps more of the issues are with the ladies rooms, but I thought the men's were fine.

Great tips! I'm not looking forward to the race to sign up, I'm hoping since we are going in September it won't be a crazy race to the line.

We are driving from Northern Maine planning on doing the 81/84 route through PA, VA etc... To avoid the cities (DC, NYC etc)

We did this route twice from PA and it is so much nicer than the 95 nightmare. Love the scenery of the "western route" and just saves a ton of stress. Didn't take the cruise off the whole time which is so much better than miles of break lights on 95.

Keep an eye out for Pilot Mountain in western NC.
