If I pack everything that I have read people saying we will really need, our luggage will be over the 50 lb. limit/2 per person!!!

Holy smokes....I don't want to carry all that stuff around everyday either!!! I am REALLY getting overwhelmed!

Do you have kids? If not, you really only need a change of underwear and a toothbrush and you're good. ;)

Honestly, even with a baby - we just don't carry that much around the parks - other than a bottle of water at all times and the things the baby needs, and a camera. That's it! You can get travel sized bandaids and sunscreen... anything else is just overkill and will probably never leave your suitcase. LOL (Just my personal opinion though) Our DD's been 4 times (she's now 2) already and we always pack pretty light even considering we have a baby in tow.

For just a couple? We can fit everything we need for a week in one suitcase and carryon, easily. And we still have things we never touch in our suitcase.

Just use the list as a guidline - think about what you *know* you'll use... some people HAVE to have those little fans and key holder things around their necks... we just don't. I can just as easily keep our passes in my pocket or DH's wallet. We don't need radio's and whatnot - we take our cell's which are slim and have always worked just fine if needed (and we rarely need them!)

Don't let the lists overwhelm you - you'll be in disney! Other than your tickets, what more do you *really* need? ;)

lol... :lmao:

Don't get overwhelmed... Just read and use the tips you think will best work for your family. I definitely have found a ton of tips on these boards myself, but I can't use them all!

I copy and paste different ones into a Word document or email and then closer to our trip I go through the list and pick out the best ones for us.

A few that we use:
1) M&Ms minis container filled with quarters and pennies for penny pressing
2) Packed snacks in our suitcases for during the days and at night instead of buying expensive snacks at the park - by the end of the week when they were gone we had extra room in our suitcases for souvenirs
3) Rain ponchos from the dollar store
4) over the door shoe hanger to store toiletries in the bathroom

We used a few others, but those are the ones that stick out the most in my mind right now. It can be overwhelming but don't let it get to you. Just pick out a few tips that you like and test them out!

HAVE A GREAT TIME!

I know what you mean! I am really bad for packing every imaginable thing, which I will probably do again this year, but this time my backpack I tote around will definitely be lighter!!! Only tix, money, camera, autograph books, pens...and nothing else! ;)

Hi WDW dreamer! I just checked out your signature and it looks like we'll be there the same time!! I just realized today that my counter has gone to 1 month 3 weeks!!! WOOHOO!!! :cool1:

I can't WAIT! I need to get packing!!!! :woohoo:

Isn't that funny? Of the list above, the only thing that I would bring is the rain ponchos. Bought tons of snacks last trip and hardly ate any of them. Didn't use the shoe hanger (but will try a pop-up laundry hamper this trip!). Don't do pressed pennies. Everyone's different!

I have decided that I want to bring more "stuff" but far fewer clothes this trip, since I only wore about 1/3 of the clothes I packed last time (since I did laundry). I still plan to bring the other stuff (misty mate, body glide, moleskin, plenty of sunscreen, ponchos, bug spray, extra shoes are all a "must") but far fewer clothes, since you can wash them. That will help cut way down on the packing.

Also, check out the thread on the "tips" board and find the "What did you bring that was just a waste" thread. Can help you identify what people thought would be great, but didn't end up using after all.

That's the thing about sites like this... there's so much great help out there that it's easy to get overwhelmed.

Other than any medical needs, you can get all the essentials somewhere at Disney... even take a cab to a store if necessary.

The rain ponchos can be bought in WDW, they'll just cost more (so we're bringing ours.)

I just went to www.BeltOutlet.com to get some fanny packs. They'll make our lives easier.

Sunscreen is a no-brainer, regardless of the time of year.

Spare socks just make sense when you'll be on your feet a lot, but I'm sure you could find some cute ones there if you forget.

Everything else is extra. I'm printing up pages and pages of suggestions for our trip next summer. When the trip gets closer, I'll weed through it all and see what's essential for us.

Have a great trip.

What I did was go through the huge list that somebody posted and copied it and then deleted all the stuff that I didn't need. A lot of things are really small though-just take a couple-like I did not take a whole box of band-aids; I just took a couple. Instead of a whole bottle of pills, I just took a couple. I did pack plastic bags and ended up using them. But basically, a camera, extra batteries, large memory card, shorts, t-shirts, socks, shoes, bathing suit, hair brush, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, razor, snacks and water.
