Holy Buckets! It's A Solo TR, 3/8-15/09 **5/1/09 Vids & Pics Done**

I will be getting to WDW on 3/14 Staying st Fort Wilderneness. I am hoping to do a monorail bar tour. Don't have all the arrangements yet. Maybe you could join us.
Terry

My trip is from 8-15th. :sad1:

It would be nice to meet up with other DISers; it would be nicer for the calendars to align so I can figure out a plan!

Though, what is a monorail bar tour? Stopping off at bars at each resort on the monorail? Sort of ending up like this by the end of the night? -> :dance3:

:lmao:

I updated the first post - I have no idea how to change the title of the post. It doesn't come up as editable.

I decided not to go to a park on Friday or Saturday.
Reasons: (or at least for now, until I change my mind, bear with me here)

1) I am probably going shopping with civilians in the morning (Beall's!)
2) I want to visit resorts - watch Wishes/EWP from Poly - visit Jellyroll's
3) I have family maybe coming late Friday night into Saturday (& god forbid, should they buy a park ticket )
4) My park tickets are no expiration, so I would like to have a day or 2 still on them.

to change your title, just hit edit, then once that page loades it will say something like go advance at the bottom and you click that.

I got some Disney letterhead for joining Insider, I think.

I printed that out and wrote a quick note to my goddaughter, Miranda, who just turned 3. She lives in FL (formerly Orlando!).

I was able to pick up some Disney princess stickers princess: at my local ShopRite for $2. I wish I had the font like jenseib though (check out her pre-trip report!), but I used "comic sans".

I put a couple stickers on the letter and some on the envelope and mailed it out today.

I didn't tell them I was going to do that, so it's a surprise! :tiptoe:

Just jumping in on your report. I went solo for my first time this past August and LOVED IT! If you have any questions please feel free to ask!

So far your plans are looking good tho!:thumbsup2

Aw; I didn't get a letterhead. Sad story!

CUTE idea though!

I lied!

I got the letterhead by joining Disneyparks.com. It is a MK themed letterhead. Very cute and personalizable - it was ask to type your name and then it appears on the letterhead! princess:

Welcome! :welcome:

My plans are a bit stalled since the calendars keep moving around, but I'll get it straightened out soon.

I do have one question, come to think of it: how long would you wait in lin for an attraction? :confused3

I have been thinking about using one of these touring guides/plans services. I have never before on my trips to WDW (not that there have been many ).

I realize now that my previous trips were always in slow season (early December), so there was never a need.

My concerns are whether any of the touring help sites are taking into account the 4/3 promotions and whether they have any for solo trippers.

Or, is it needed for solo trippers since I can pretty much do whatever I want, when I want?

There are single rider lines for most of the major attractions, and that was one of the best things EVER! My husband and I even did it when we went together this past Nov. I hardly ever waited for anything. Generally speaking tho 20 minutes is my limit, but I am a snob of wait times because I know better than to be there when the times are longer. ;)

I used Tour Guide Mike before. I def think it was a good service, the thing I used the most was the what parks to go to on what days thing. He tells you what parks should be empty and what should be more corwded. I have heard that touringplans.com is great too tho.

My general plan is depending on the time of year to avoid EMH's unless you get there first thing. If a park had EMH's the day before the next day is the best day to go, ya follow?/ And to just have a general plan of attack on where you wanna go first and what directions you wanna head in.

I'll still think on the touring plans websites. I still got a little time! :goodvibes

I thought there were only 3 rides with Single Rider Lanes - Test Track, Everest and something else I can't remember right now.

I have which rides and shows I want to do (see previous posts); I just need to get my act together and put it down to paper.

I am concentrating on select rides, the shows, walking trails, fireworks, safaris.

I have to see about parades and characters. I'm thinking no cruise-sharing since no one has my dates. :sad1: But I had a plan to watch Wishes/EWP from Poly Beach anyway.

I just saw from another thread that there will be 320 DISers in March! Holy Buckets! I have a feeling that it will be awfully busy at Disney!

I need to go through my initials posts and start getting everything in order!
14 Days :hourglass :yay: :yay:

I spent several hours and couple of cups of coffee this afternoon getting my travel items together. Turns out I have double of almost everything since I keep re-buying - darn that Harmons! So, I separated everything out, bagged and tagged them, ready to be placed in my luggage which I will bring up from the basement next weekend. I think I have every possible thing imagine-able!

The only thing I actually need is a hair dryer, since the POFQ thread says the hair dryers there are not the greatst for my crazy hair. The one I had went aflame in Italy last year. Guess I got the voltage wrong. I had a adapter, but still went :furious: .

More tomorrow!

I got the unofficial guide, which is touringplans book basically, and they stres getting there early. Before park opening. For us that plan just doens;t work with our little one. I also got a bit pf a panick attack with him stressing over and over about getting there early. LOL! But that book would be a good one to pick up if you are looking for touring plans. We pretty much wing it and have done well enough in the past two years. With a small child, touring plans don;t always work. If I ever go solo though, I'm all over it.

It's getting so close for us now! I have had my suitcases out for a few weeks already. LOL! I have DH's pretty much packed, and half of mine and DD's. Mopst thst is left is the last minute stuff and her costumes, which I don;t want to sit in there and get wrinkled for two weeks.

13 Days! pixiedust: 13 Days!

So, I've been trying to come up with a bit more of a plan for the actual days.
This can change at any time due to the Changing of the Park Hours by the Disney Peeps or just by my whims. LOL!!!

At this point and time I wouldn't waste your money on signing up with TG's or anything else. I think if you go early, you should be fine. Maybe your local library has the unoffical guide (or you could look at the sample tours on touringplans). Or buy that and you can even do some of the reading on the plane. It's a thick book though.

I have been checking the times on Disney site and so far the times haven't change for about a week now. So I think it's set now. LOL! I just think they had a hard time getting caught up with the current info. Of course anything can still change, even while we are there.

Ok, I'm gonna take that back. I jsut read about ridemax, and that might be a good idea. I just might even look into it. I don;t know if it will help us or not, sicne I can't say for sure what time we'll actually be getting to the parks, but for my AK day I would like to see what it tells me to do to see the shows most effeciently. Still debating if I want to spend almopst 20 for that though.

I've been thinking seriously about it. It seems good, but at $20 bucks. Wow!

Then again, I spent $20 on a photopass share with you know who. ;)

The other plans are canned ones and none for solo trippers or very small adult groups. So, that doesn't help me at all.

If I do buy it, I'll do it a week before and then obessesively play with it for 7 days and make a zillion different plans for every possible scenerio.

So, a friend of mine let me know she can join me on Wednesday & Thursday AND even got a 2 day park hopper! :yay:

Holy Buckets!

Which means, a complete revision of the park plans. Except for Wednesday; I am all about my Segway tour and Fantasmic dining package.

Oh, note to self: pick up a hair dryer!!

I would let your friend know about your segway tour and see if she wants to join you or just let her go on her own at that point. Also see if she wants to join for Fantasmic and see if you can add her to the package.
