So, I think I'm going to jump in and do a pre-trip report. :cool2:

I am going mostly solo as a birthday present to myself from March 8 -15th. :cloud9: I haven't been to Disney since December 2006 and even then, it was only to Epcot. So, I have lots of catching up to do!

I do have a good friend in the area as well as some family, but all is up in the air. Update: said friend will be joining me for 2 days in the parks! My cuz will join me for my last day :upsidedow

I got my resort (POFQ) booked, my flights set, decided against the dining plan, went with park hopper/no exp tickets and decided to go with a shared photopass.

I ordered customized maps (update: got them! they are gorgeous! not using them in the park, they are keepsake quality) and made a tentative touring plans. I have another thread going (got lots of wonderful advice! ty!) on which rides are do-able for my wimpy nature.

Sunday:
Arrive at POFQ by Magical Express by 3pm-ish
Dinner/Fireworks at the Poly - :thumbsup2 done

Monday:
EMH AM - Animal Kingdom - :thumbsup2
Epcot - 7:30pm Rose & Crown reservations :thumbsup2
Illumination watching :thumbsup2

Tuesday:
Hollywood Studios :thumbsup2
Magic Kingdom :thumbsup2

Wednesday:
9am Segway tour - Epcot :thumbsup2
4:20pm Fantasmic Dinner package at Hollywood Studios :thumbsup2 done

Thursday: Whirlwind Day!
Hollywood Studios :thumbsup2
Magic Kingdom? :thumbsup2
AND
Animal Kingdom :thumbsup2

Friday:
Shopping with civilians (Beall's, etc) :thumbsup2 done
Downtown Disney :thumbsup2 done

Saturday:
Boardwalk :thumbsup2
Fantasia Garden - mini-golf :thumbsup2

Sunday:
Check-out at POFQ :sad1:
11am flight back home

Still need to build in: (though I don't need to do all)
Scat Cat visit at POFQ :thumbsup2
Boardwalk visit :thumbsup2
Poly visit to watch Wishes / Electric Water :thumbsup2
Try Mini-golf :thumbsup2
Ride the monorail / boats :thumbsup2
Butterfly Garden at POR - didn't get there
Animal Kingdom Lodge to see animals at dusk - didn't get there

I want to be as efficient as possible with Disney transportation (I'm still trying to learn/memorize it) and combine trips.

The park hours are still fairly in turmoil from what I understand from the rest of the board.

Sounds like fun! What resort did you choose? And, I have to ask because this is something I've never heard of--what is "Scat Cat"? :confused3

Hi there --

Scat Cat is a lounge in POFQ. That's where I am staying.

Hopefully, I'll make better plans as time nears, though I am still a little worried about my AK dining reservations.

And I do have to schedule some time in for :laundy: . :rotfl2:

1) Hmmm.....need to find out about hair dryers in the rooms. - Hair dryer bought :thumbsup2

I've got wildy curly hair and it needs to be tamed at all times. :lmao:

2) Confirmed my Photopass share

Onward!

1) I need to get a travel hairdryer; the room ones are not so great princess: - this is done :thumbsup2

2) Photopass confirmed & ongoing; all good to go :thumbsup2

3) Customized maps have arrived! They are gorgeous! Waaaay too pretty to actually use. :thumbsup2

4) I still need to tweak the touring plans :scratchin

5) The biggie is to decide on which rides go into the "Can Do" column and those that are in "No-No" column. :scratchin This is done, see later posts - each Park has its own list in a post

And the beat....errr, planning goes on! pixiedust:

6) To cruiseshare or not to cruiseshare? :boat: :wizard:

Probably not at this point...ah well! There's always next time. :flower3:

7) Magical Express letter & information arrived! Yipee! :woohoo: :yay:

Must remember to check up on menus, rides, and attempt to come up with a touring plan.

8) Sent out order form for WDW Celebration Scrapbook Kit.
Don't know if I can scrapbook, but I'm willin' to try! :p

Saw your link on the POFQ thread. Sounds like you should have fun. Is this your first solo trip ever taken or just to Disney?

Thanks for visiting! :goodvibes

Yup and yup!

I have flown by myself, but always met up with people at my destination. I've never actually gone completely by myself on a trip and holy buckets, it's to Disney! pixiedust:

I don't think any civilians will be showing up. LOL! :upsidedow

9) Disney package arrived from the travel agent! YAY!!!
All my vouchers - hopefully, I can use each and every one of them!

Sounds like you are on the road to good plans. I had never heard of Scat Cat either.
I think I got my documents the same day you did. LOL!
I wish I could go solo sometime. LOL! I love going with my family, but they want to sleep and relax and dumb stuff like that. I want to get up (and do most of the time) at 6AM and got till I drop, then do it again the next day. I don't think I have anyone in my family who could keep up with me. My son might, but after a couple of days he would be grouchy and complain that his legs hurt. LOL!
Just walk through the burn! :woohoo: It eventually goes away!

When you say civillans, what do you mean. Is that meeting up with friends?

Hi! how are you?

I didn't hear of Scat Cat until I settled on POFQ. Sounds like it would be fun; if not, then there should be something else to do.

I was so excited to get the travel docs. It was another thing to check off the list. Done! :thumbsup2

I'm the same with the plans. I'd figure resting is what I do free at home! :joker: This is vacation and it should be on the run and hitting the ground daily until dark.
I went to Italy last summer and I planned like a general, which didn't make my travel partner-in-crime very happy. But we got everything done! I wrote a trip report and the people on that forum said that they could feel the frantic pace we were going. Looking back, I could have maximized more time, but, well, next time.

Yes, civilians are the semi-locals who are not staying on-site. Philistines! They are going to drive the 30 minutes or so to see me or so they say.
I do have family who live on the east coast and they also said they are coming for the weekend, but are also not staying on-site. I'm surrounded by Philistines! Apparently, $149/night is too much at POFQ. :sad1:

I'm just going to be glad they are coming to see me at all.

Thanks for visiting!

Made my way over here from seeing your comments in my PTR. Looks like you have some great plans! I think it's great that you have a few open days, the best part about being solo is just deciding on a whim what you want to do.

I'm also taking my first solo trip to Disney in March. I'll be there March 8th - 14th. Have a fantastic time!

Cool! :cool2:

There's seems to be a few solo trippers this week! THanks for stopping by. Soon, I'll have a more to add since I have to get my parks scheudle all straightened out and decide which rides I want to do. I definitely want to add in all the shows! :yay:

So, I decided to go through one park at a time and get a tenative plans based on my Must-Do's, The B-List and No Can Do.

The park is open from 9am - 5pm, no EMH on 3/10 (that we know of yet). Anyone have a Times Guide for the shows?

The Must-Do List: :flower3:
Festival of the Lion King, times?
Kilimanjaro Safari, first thing?
Pangani Forest Trail
Maharajah Jungle Trek
Kali River Rapids, later in the day?
Find Nemo - Musical 3:15pm, other times?
DiVine & Hidden Mickey's!
Yak & Yeti ADR, 4:30pm
Kiss Goodnight 5-5:20pm

The B-List:
Planet Watch (Train, Exhibits)
Oasis Exhibits
It's Tough to Be a Bug :3dglasses
Discovery Trail
Flights of Wonder, times?
Jamming Jungle Parade 4pm

No Can Do: :scared:
Expedition Everest
Dinosaur
Primeval Whirl (this is more of a maybe?)

Ok, that is the rough draft. Suggestions always welcome. Do I miss anything?

I wouldn't mind going back on a EMH PM night, but the calendars are conflicting! Argh!

Back to your regularly scheduled programming. :happytv:
