We did the FDP in November when we were there for exactly the same reason...I was not expecting too much based on the reviews I had seen, but we were pleasantly suprised.
The buffet had some excellent selections....they had a terrific tomatoe and mozarella salad, an excellent salmon dish and some very good veggies. My kids loved the root beer sweet potatoes (they weren't my thing, but then sweet potatoes never are). My in laws were with us...and I would classify them as very plain (meat and potatoes), unadventurous eaters, I have teenagers and DH and myself (who have decidely more exotic preferences), and everyone was full and happy at the end,
They had a decent ice cream sundae bar and several kinds of pastries, cookies and cobbler for dessert as I recall.
It wasn't as good a buffet as Boma's or Chef Mickeys, but I would not hesitate to go back either...especially if travelling with a group that had a range of eating preferences.
If you don't have a big group, ask for a window table...the people watching was fun, and it helped the atmosphere to be slightly removed from the buffet areas, since they were very busy the whole time we were there.
