We had a nice experience at Mama Melrose on the F! package. We also have had lunch at Hollywood and Vine. I found that at MM it's best to ask them to go ahead and prepare the check while we are still eating so I can just sign and go when I am done because getting the check seemed to take an eternity. I'm talking 95 degree day/100% humidity waiting in line for Dumbo at 1:00 in the afternoon with a toddler who needs a nap eternity. Oh wait...that was how my DH was reacting to sitting and waiting for the check! So I've learned to ask early. But seriously I have no idea why it took so long. I found the rest of the experience to be enjoyable though. The food was fine and it was inside and we were sitting down and joking around and had a great day and we left with full tummies and seats for the big show!
I just don't get how most of the Disney buffets have so many of the same things and some get it right and with some it's just icky, or in the case of H&V STICKY.
Our H&V experince was very sticky. The table and chairs were sticky, the floor was sticky, the bathroom stall handles were sticky, the tray were sticky. It was as if a bunch of toddlers have been eating waffles with maple syrup and biscuits with grape jelly then were allowed to run around and touch everything in the place with sticky hands. No matter how the CMs tried, you can't quite ever get the sticky funk off of things without a power washer. Oh wait, it's not LIKE that..it was exactly how it was!
I think I'd rather wait over an hour for F! in line and another in the stadium and get a hot dog and popcorn at the theater for dinner and wait sitting on those concrete benchs without seat backs rather than return to H&V. Yes, really.
