Our Family( 2 Adults, 2 Teens) will be going Disney World the first week of June. We are staying 7 days but are only going to the park five days. We will do Magic Kingdom twice. However we don't know what the other three days should include. Our original plan was to do Hollywood Studios twice, Epcot once and skip Animal Kingdom. However when trying to figure out our Fastpass+ options, we realized Hollywood Studios had very few attractions we liked. So we thought about going to Animal Kingdom once. Everyone liked that option, however my son wants to do Epcot twice and skip Animal Kingdom. What should we do?

How about 1.5 days at Epcot & half day at AK? AK closes earlier so you could hop to Epcot in the afternoon of AK day if you have hoppers? I wouldn't skip AK. We have DS17 & DS14 which loved several rides at AK. The atmosphere is in itself a "don't miss" IMO ;)

Funny but we used to do 2 Epcot days when my kids were little but now that they are teens we only do one. When they are little they want to do the Kid Spots in all the countries but now that they are teens we just take a quick walk through and we can do the park in a day. I think you should give AK a try. It is a nice park but not a full Day park. We try to schedule it on a day when we have to get up early the next day.

What are you doing the days you aren't going to the parks? I would suggest considering adding Park Hopper to your tickets. I'd spend 1.5 days at MK, Epcot, and HS and half a day at AK.

If not, go to Animal Kingdom instead of Epcot or HS twice. AK is really not a fully day park, but you should still see it.

To answer your question assuming you don't have hoppers I would do 1 day at HS and 1 day at AK. If you have hoppers I like 3boysNagirl option. I wouldn't skip AK specially having teenagers. EE is a lot of fun.

AK was my family's second favorite park behind MK. (DS-13, DS, 12, DS 5) I would definitely hit AK for 1 day. 1 day at Epcot is plenty in my opinion. Epcot was actually our least favorite park.

Funny, when we went, DD5 didn't care much for Epcot, but she loved AK. We changed our plans around, so we ended up with: MK for two days, AK for two days, HS and Epcot each one day.

In your case, I'd definitely go to AK for a full day. Unless y'all really want to go on R&R Coaster or TSMM, I may skip HS and spend two days at Epcot.

I think I would also go with 1 day Epcot and 1 day Ak. Because of operating hours, you could also jump over to Epcot after Ak closed for dinner.

Like some pp said, many consider AK (and HS) half day parks. My family only feels this way about AK, and only b/c we've been many times. If you have hoppers or can add them, I would suggest spending your 3 non-Mk days as 1 HS, 1 EPCOT, and 1 AK in the morning and then hopping to EPCOT afterwards. That way your DS gets his (almost) 2 days at EPCOT :)

If after your first EPCOT day you all decide you don't need another, you can just take more time at AK or hop back to HS or MK again afterwards. Or really whatever you want at that point:goodvibes If hoppers aren't an option I would look over ALL the attractions/shows at both HS and AK again and make sure you really want to miss out on one or the other. Don't just look at the big thrill rides; some of the other attractions, like FOTLK at AK and the Animation Academy drawing class at HS are not to miss for lots of families, also.

Another note, my 2 DS's are now 8 and almost 12. Both have loved EPCOT since they were old enough to do the Kid Cot stations and still love so many other things about it. Even though rides aren't plentiful there, the performers around WS and just walking through the buildings in all the countries can be fun for some tweens and teens. Have a great trip!!!!

This raises the eternal Hopper question. Does one pay a lot of money to upgrade their tickets just so that they can hop for one afternoon/evening? For us the answer is no. I would do:

MK x 2
E x 1
DHS x 1
AK x 1

Doing this, you will have to concede that you will not be able to "max out" Epcot in a single day, but if you know going in that you will have to either skip some countries or give them short shrift, you can manage expectations and do fine. I would rather do most, but not all of Epcot and still do AK and DHS than do Epcot thoroughly and skip one of the other parks. But the one thing that I would not do is pay a lot of money just so that on one day I could go from AK to another park. For us, buying Hoppers only works financially if we are going to hop a lot.

We see all the parks for one day. If you have never been to AK I think you should try it once. Everest itself is worth going on. You can always leave and go to the hotel pool or another park if you have a hopper. I agree that AK can be a shorter day which is often well received while touring WDW!

MK 1 or 2 days
Epcot 1 or 2 days
Studios 1 day
AK 1 day

Make a plan, then stay flexible after you go to DS. If it was a hit, then go again and change FP+ for DS 2nd day. If not, go to AK or Epcot.

If you have hoppers, and if you are willing to go at rope drop, go to AK, ride rides, eat at Flame Tree, then hop to DS or Epcot for afternoon FP+'s.

EVERY family is different. If it were us, we'd do one each at Epcot, MK, AK, TL, and BB, then skip DHS.

For parks only, we'd do
AK 1.5
Epcot 2
MK 1
DHS .5

But, forget all that. My suggestion is to plan 1 day per park, then repeat your favorite on day 5. And of course you will not KNOW your favorite until you've been there ;)

If you haven't been, you should definitely plan 5 days as 1 at each park with a second at the MK on your last day. If you decide you want to do some other park on that last day, you can always change up.

Don't cut any park out in favor of more at another. There is tons to do at every park. AK has some of the best rides at Disney World, including the best roller coaster Expedition Everest.

The fact that AK closes earlier than the others is irrelevant... most ppl do not do 9am-10pm even at parks where the hours are so long. You need time at your hotel pool, or to take in the hotel restaurant for a dinner, or something like that and AK nights are perfect for this.

There's no need to buy hoppers. You'll be plenty busy at every park you go to and you'll feel like you come up short on time everywhere!

Enjoy! 5 days is a perfect number cuz of the 2-1-1-1 split.

I agree with some of the PP's.......I wouldn't skip AK. It's my DH's favorite park, but we all love it.

I would do 2 days at MK and one each of the others, or one day at each park and then decide which one you want to return to for your 5th day.

We do a full day at AK, can't miss the safari x 2, Lion King and Flights of Wonder shows, lunch at Flametree, Devine, Kali, and both animal trails. It closes earlier than the other parks so it's a great night to spend time at the hotel pool too, or a TS dinner somewhere.

Have a great trip!

Why do you say HS "had very few attractions you liked?" Have you been before?

Thanks for all the replies. We won't be getting park hopper tickets so hopping is not going to happen. We have been to all the parks before. We love TSMM, ST, and RNRC at HS. We love KS, EE, and KRR at AK. Besides those only a couple other rides are enjoyable and worth are time. Our schedule has us going to MK on Sunday, HS on Monday, rest on Tuesday, Wednesday is up for debate, MK on Thursday, and Epcot on Friday. Thanks so much for the suggestions and keep them coming please.

I would not do Hollywood Studios 2 days. There isn't enough there. You could do Epcot for 2 days. Or do a day of Animal Kingdom.

Since you are avoiding HS for Star Wars Weekend, I think you are good with one day there. I do think it is the most teen friendly park. Since you have been to AK before, I think ultimately it is going to up to you whether your kids want to go back. My family loves AK and always makes the evening after a day in AK a Downtown Disney night.
