Hollywood & Dine ?

Is this place (Hollywood & Dine) closed? I thought I heard/read something about this no longer being open, is this true?

It has been closed for a while and I don't know if there are plans to reopen it. It's too bad, as it had a variety of counter service food available.

I heard a rumor that they MAY retheme the place as a Sci-Fi Drive-in Restaurant like at MGM Studios in WDW. That's one of our favorite restaurants at WDW.

But roy you can get those things EVERYWHERE there are very few things for those of use who choose not to eat meat.

Well, there are very few of you that choose NOT to eat meat so it follows that there would be very few places that DON'T serve meat. Most of us are happily carnivores!

There are more that do eat meat then don't, that I will give you. But I am not sure I would as far to as a "there are very few." Vegetarianism is actually gaining popularity. And even if there is a vegetarian restaurant, it doesn't mean that those who choose to eat meat couldn't eat there. The reverse of this is not true, if you don't eat meat, you don't eat meat.

Since the Middle Eastern food at Aladdin's Oasis at DL bombed, I doubt the people at Disney would go with a vegetarian restaurant. I'm sure they would view that as being even riskier.

I do know of a great vegetarian restaurant about 1/2 hour from Disney though. Disneychrista, if you're interested, let me know and I'll post the info. I'm a big time carnivore but I have vegan in-laws so I do eat at vegetarian retaurants from time to time.

Thanks, almostGoofy, but I prefer not to travel that far for a meal, while at Disney. I was really only half-joking about a vegetarian restaurant. I do agree that it would not be economically feesible for Disney to open one, at least INSIDE the parks. I could see one going in at Downtown Disney.

I would however, like to see more then pizza and pasta offered as alternatives for vegetarians. Though I do really like both.
