Holland America Cruises

Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year! We were wondering if anyone has done one of the Holland America Alaska Cruises with there DVC points? How was it? Would you recommend one cruise over another? Also, we would be taking our children that will be almost 6 and 8 years old. Has anyone taken children on any of the Holland America cruises and was it good for the children? Ex. children's program, good excursions.

I've cruised Holland America Line (HAL) many times, including once to Alaska when my son was 15 or 16. They're a top-notch line, and my overall favorite (despite several DCL cruises).

That said, I'd never use my points to pay for it. You still have to pay the port fees & govt charges, which I think were around $300/person, plus of course either $75 or $95 plus all those points. It's far cheaper to rent out some of your points and book directly with HAL or a travel agent.
