Poor Holland America has been having some problems with their Alaska cruises lately. Yesterday, the Statendam had a fire that messed up it's propulsion and navigation, setting it adrift (story here) and the week before, the Ryndam made news when 13% of it's passengers came down with a Norwalk-type virus (story here). I'm really glad I'm booked for a Disney cruise!

akterrye,

Thanks for all the information regarding Holland America. I have actually begun research for my Alaska cruise in 2004 and just picked up Holland America's new 2003 information from AAA on Sat. Also, have Princess and Celebrity. Have plenty of time to decide which one I will end up doing?

My DH and I did Holland America Ryndam 6-15-02 and it was a great cruise for Alaska. We did the roundtrip Vancouver inside passage cruise. The scenery was amazing, and the staff was great (nothing compared to Disney, but for Alaska until DCL goes up there... it'll do!) =)

Good job planning ahead, I work for AAA and I have already booked some clients for Alaska next year. It books up fast, keep that in mind.

luv2tvl,

Thanks for the information on the Holland America Alaska cruise. From the brochures I have been looking at I am leaning toward using them in 2004. I will keep in mind that they fill up fast and try to book early.

Nancy
