ok, i am a week and a few days away from my 180 mark and i cant make this decision! We (me and DH) are staying at the contemporary Nov 30- Dec 6. :santa: I have my "no park day" scheduled for friday the 3rd. We have done MVMCP twice before, so we are not doing it again this year. But i loooove me some holiday wishes fireworks! I had decided on cali grill for dinner so that we could watch holiday wishes from the balcony, but now all i am reading is posts about cali grill and how loud it is! I want it to be a nice dinner as well as enjoy the fireworks. SOOOOO....long story short..(too late)....do i plan for an earlier dinner and then take the receipt to go back up later to watch the fireworks, or do i take the chance of how loud it will be and make the reservation to overlap the fireworks???

I had a wonderful meal at CG on xmas night 2008, had adr for 9:15pm, but got there at 8:45 and were seated immediately and the cm told us we could go out to watch wishes or stay at the table. 3 of us stayed at the table and they dim lights and pipe in music, other 2 went to the deck. We had a wonderful meal(very leisurely(2 hours) and did not feel it was too noisy, we had great conversation. If you are not doing a park that day, my vote woud be to have a late meal and watch wishes from there. I would find it hard to "plan" for the return after an early meal, but that would also work. I think the noise level of the restaurant would not change.

Since your already staying at the Contemporary I don't think you can make a wrong choice here, because if you have the earlier meal and come back for Holiday Wishes you won't have far to go. However if you decide to make the ADR just before 9:30 PM which is when the fireworks would start, then that would also be great.

Either way should be fine,! W e love Cali grill. We check into bay lake towers on the 3rd of dec, ember. Maybe we will run into each otherl. ;)

What time does Holiday Wishes start? We are staying the same time as the OP, and planning on having dinner at California Grill on the Friday Dec. 3rd (just DH and I/sitter for the boys). We have to turn in our ADR requests this week to IPO, and right now I have an 8pm request listed. After reading this thread, it seems that might be too early.

As I recall, wishes started about 8:30-9pm. But that was dec 08, not sure if it has changed.
