Has anyone ever taken one of the Holiday Sleigh rides at the Wilderness Lodge? I'm curious as to what you see and what the sleigh looks like.

We did this on Dec. 23rd last year. It's a 30 minute "sleigh" ride that leaves from the front of Wilderness Lodge. Basically, it's a carriage (obviously, cause there's no snow in WDW.) that looks like a sleigh with wheels. There are bells on the sleigh so it sounds very festive. They take you around the side of the lodge, out into the forest area. It was very nice and it helped my family get in the "Xmas" mood at WDW. We did it at sunset so that added to the feeling. I know that Dec. 24th sold out really fast.
I made my PS - reservation ahead of time because they were selling out. I think I did it at something like 60 days. But I can't remember now.

We did this as well on December 6th 2003. It was very peaceful and relaxing. They only opened up booking a few weeks before our trip and the reservations went fast.

Sounds great - thanks for the responses.

I think I'll try and book it for Dec 3 and hope for the best.

One last question - will it accomadate 4 adults and DD 13?

We did this last December, and LOVED it. Very nice. I have a writeup in my trip report: Dec 2003 Trip Report (See Day 3)

and here are a couple pictures:

As to fitting 4 adults, and a 13 yo. it will most likely be very tight depending on everyones size. You'll definitely be 'bumping knees'.

Thanks for this great idea. It might be wonderful thing to do before or after eating at Artist Point!!! Who do you call for reservations???

:D Thanks for sharing your pictures, Tagrel. I am going to try and book this for our first night as a surprise for my crew. I'm glad to hear others enjoyed it.

I want to do this during our Christmas trip.:bounce: :Pinkbounc

Do you to pay when you book or just give your CC information?

WOW! This is something I definetly want to do...how do you book this?

I did this last December ... :) The sleigh took us through the woods, turned around and then went back through part of the resort. We had the last ride of the night and it was very romantic ... except for the jogger who was running through the woods in the dark (kind of creepy jogging in the woods without lights but that's just me)

Stepharoonie -- We called WDW-PLAY to book the sleigh ride. I remember reading that most of the dates went really quickly.

disneyjunkie -- I had to give a CC when I called to book. The CM said the CC was just to confirm out reservation and we had 24 hours to cancel without being charged. She told me to bring either cash or my room card to pay the ride when I showed up.

We had the last ride of the night and it was very romantic ...
My husband and I also had the last ride of the night we went, I believe it was the 23rd. While the ride was romantic, I was surprised that the forest area along the trail wasn't decorated. (I just assumed that Disney would put lights on trees, or something. Did anyone alse think this?)

It was so dark I could barley see the senery as we rode by. The experience was great considering it was our honeymoon, but it was different than I anticipated.

Anyone wanted to try the sleigh ride should go before dark. This is my reccomendation.
