Holiday season preference

If you could spend a few days at one of the resorts during the holiday season which would you prefer and why? Which resort, in your opinion, has the nicest decorations and is a not to be missed experience? What is your favorite part of the seasonal transformations at Disney?

We made our first holiday season visit last year and stayed at AKL and my definite preference would be to go back. The lobby decorations and tree were breathtaking and the resort is a wonder in itself! This year, unfortunately, we're on a tight budget (overdid it on our summer vacation) so while my heart will be at AKL, my $$$'s will be at ASSp! But I'll still be at WDW so I'm happy!

The best resort decorations, in my opinion, are at the GF. The tree in the lobby is unbelieveable and the gingerbread house giftshop (and yes it is real and made by the staff) is pretty amazing. So, this one would get my top vote. Plus, they typically have someone playing on the grand piano or a type of light band/orchestra playing Christmas music most of the time.

After that I have heard that the WL is also pretty but have not seen it yet. The Boardwalk area (BW, YC, BC) are also pretty during the season but I wouldn't call them spectacular. Just very pretty.

The things I like best are to do with the parks, though. I love Osborne lights, Candlelight Processional, Tree lighting at Epcot and Magic Kingdom and MVMCP at MK. Plus, the decoration at the Marketplace are also very pretty.

Disney at Christmas is pretty amazing. That is why we go during that time of the year.
