Holiday season and water parks...

I know that one of the water parks usually goes into a refurb during the holiday season but the other will still be open over the week between Christmas and New Years, correct?

Also, do the WP usually reach capacity this time of year? I will be traveling with family from snow country who swim in almost any weather so I am trying to get a feel for what options are!

There is usually one open while the other is closed. They do close for cold weather tho. Over the last New Years week, it was only warm enough on one day. In Feb, we went nearly every day.

Capacity at Christmas time? No chance. Close due to weather, possible. We went Christmas 2010 (a cold day in Florida is a nice summer day in Ireland) and BB was practically empty, maybe 500 or so people. Did Summit Plummit with no wait, as soon as I could get back up I could go back down. Last time we went was April and the queue was long, gave up after 45 mins.

DH's family is from the Rockies and find anything that involves above freezing and low winds in winter a thrill so I was thinking if the WPs are open over the holidays it would be a worthwhile visit.

Is there a general guideline that temps must be above X for them to be open? Just wondering how we would find out and what happens if we buy the WP&M option on our ticket but can't use it. Thanks again!!!
