Hi Everyone,

My first time posting, I hope this is the right place to put this:

We are leaving August 26th for a weeks trip to WDW. We are booked to stay at the Holiday Inn Sunspree Kids Suites. I liked what I saw on the website as to what they have to offer, and the prices were quite affordable at about $90 per night.

I am just curious if anyone here has stayed there, and if so, how you liked it. We are renting a car so we can do "non disney" stuff as well such as Gatorland and a trip to the coast one day.

Any thoughts on the Holiday Inn Sunspree would be great, I'm just looking for feedback to be sure I chose the right place for me and my family!!!

TIA!

We stayed there going back some years and loved the room we had. The 2 sets of bunk beds were the bomb for my boys. We had a great time for the money.

The location is excellent! THere are tons of restaurants within 5 minutes and two great malls, one new Walmart and DTD> You will love the Lake Buena Vista area.

We stayed there a couple of years ago and my kids still talk about how much they loved it. It is not new or fancy, but everything was clean and decently maintained when we stayed there, and there are many touches that make it very kid friendly. Note that the adult bedroom is not totally private from the kid bedroom area -- there is only a partial wall between them.

This year we stayed at the new Nickelodeon Family Suites. It is newly refurbished and really quite nice -- like the Sunspree only newer, bigger, and a bit more upscale. Also about twice as expensive, I think, so if the budget is a concern, I'd stay with the Sunspree.

Stayed there last year & thought it was ok but I wouldn't have said room wise it was any better than a kidsuite at the Comfort Inn.Good location but be aware you have to cross the highway(road) ,which can be quite busy,to get to the entance -this from the I4 direction. Our room had a musty smell, the bunk bed's paint was all chipped -obviously from little fingers picking! & as mentioned the partition only goes up to @ 3/4 room height,so no privacy.

Thanks everyone for your input. I'm hoping for the best.....my theory is I have not heard anything awful about the place and seeing as most of our time will be out of the room, hopefully it will be fine!

Do any of you know much about their dining options? I know there is no official "restaurant" in the Sunspree, but I did read there is a place for breakfast and lunch which is good because we plan on eating breakfast there before hitting the park.
Is the food decent?

The hotel had a restaurant last year,we had to use it when we were all curfewed for Hurricane Jeanne. From what I recall evening meal was buffet style (with 4/5 entrees) & was ok.I think there was also a menu that you could order off but i'm not 100% on that, never used it for breakfast ,as we like Denny's. Not sure that it opened for lunch ,as the have an outdoor cafe/snack bar beside the pool ,that is open for lunch.

we stayed there in jan of 04 it was a clean, decent, basic hotel. No frills, nothing fancy, but you couldn't beat the price for a clean nice room. Our room ( I think all of them) had a small fridge and micro in it. We bought milk and cereal and they happi;y gave us bowls etc from the restaurant. We popped popcorm for a late night snack, had cold juice and water there, and warmed up a meal that was too large the night before. You'll be fine. Have a great time!
